Abstract
Sentra practical life skill menjadi salah satu pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan untuk membangun karakter kemandirian anak. Karakter kemandirian merupakan suatu kemampuan untuk berdiri sendiri tanpa adanya rasa ketergantungan terhadap orang lain. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan bagaimana pembelajaran sentra practical life skill dalam membangun karakter kemandirian anak usia dini anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dengan cara pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu 1) Kesiapan sekolah dalam membangun karakter kemandirian anak melalui visi, misi, dan tujuan sekolah, kebijakan sekolah, klasifikasi pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan, juga sarana dan prasarana yang mendukung pembelajaran. 2) Kegiatan sentra practical life skill yang berfokus pada development of motor skills (pengembangan keterampilan motorik), Care of environment and self (peduli terhadap lingkungan dan diri sendiri), dan Social grace and courtesy (sikap dan kesopanan sosial). 3) Tujuan sentra practical life skill yang mengarah pada membangun karakter kemandirian anak. 4) Fasilitas pembelajaran yang mendukung seperti alat makan, alat kebersihan, buku, busy book, dan alat yang mendukung keterampilan motorik halus. 5) Peran guru sebagai fasilitator, motivator, dan teladan. 6) Implementasi tahapan pembelajaran sentra practical life skill yang terdiri dari pijakan lingkungan bermain, pijakan sebelum bermain, pijakan saat bermain, dan pijakan setelah bermain. 7) Karakter kemandirian yang tertanam pada diri anak diantaranya kemandirian emosi, kemandirian intelektual, dan juga kemandirian sosial. The practical life skills center is one of the lessons carried out to instill the character of independence in children from an early age. The character of independence is the ability to stand alone without feeling dependent on other people. The aim of this research is to describe how the practical life skills learning center at Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergarten instills the character of independence in early childhood. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research are 1) School readiness in instilling the character of independence in children through the school's vision, mission and goals, school policies, classification of educators and education personnel, as well as facilities and infrastructure that support learning. 2) Types of practical life skills center activities that focus on development of motor skills (development of motor skills), Care of environment and self (care for the environment and yourself), and Social grace and courtesy (attitude and social politeness). 3) The aim of the practical life skills center is to instill children's independent character. 4) Supportive learning facilities such as eating utensils, cleaning tools, reading books, busy books, and tools that support fine motor skills. 5) The role of the teacher as a facilitator, motivator and role model who sets a good example. 6) Implementation of practical life skills center learning stages which consist of playing environment steps, steps before playing, steps during play, and steps after playing. 7) The character of independence that is embedded in children includes emotional independence, intellectual independence, and also social independence.
