Abstract

Kesenian tradisional suatu daerah penting untuk dilestarikan keberadaannnya. Terdapat beberapa cara yang dapat dilakukan dalam mengapresiasikan karya seni yang terlahir dari para leluhur, salah satunya adalah melalui penelitian serta mengimplementasikannya ke dalam karya tulis ilmiah. Judul yang dipilih dalam penulisan karya tulis ilmiah ini adalah “KAJIAN MOTIF KAIN TENUN CUAL MASYARAKAT BANGKA (Studi Kasus Kain Tenun Cual di Selindung Lama Pangkalpinang Bangka)”. Penelitian ini pada hakikatnya menyangkut tentang pengkajian motif kain tenun Cual yang terletak di Koperasi Ibu Maslina Yazid dengan berbagai informan kunci yaitu keluarga besar Bapak Yazid beserta beberapa perajin tenun yang sudah ahli. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk menemukan, menggali serta mengeksplorasikan beberapa hal yang terkandung dalam setiap motif kain tenun Cual. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan budaya. Sedangkan teknik yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data yaitu dengan cara observasi dan wawancara. Adapun temuan-temuan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah berupa sejarah perkembangan kain tenun Cual, jenis-jenis motif, bahasa rupa yang terkandung dalam motif, inovasi motif dan bentuk kain, teknik-teknik yang digunakan, serta serangkaian proses yang harus dilakukan dalam menciptakan kain tenun Cual Bangka.

The existence of the local traditional arts is very important to be preserved. There are several ways that can be done to appreciate works of art that was born from the ancestors, one of which is through research and implementing it into a scientific paper. The title is selected in the writing of scientific paper is “STUDY ON THE MOTIF WOVEN FABRIC OF CUAL BANGKA (Case Study of Cual in Selindung Lama Pangkalpinang- Bangka)". This study concerns the assessment essentially woven motifs of Cual which is located in the Cooperative of Mrs. Maslina Yazid with the helps of various experts those are big family of Mr. Yazid and experts of weaving as the direct informants. The purpose of this research is to discover and explore some of the things contained in each motif woven fabric of Cual. The method which is used in this research is descriptive qualitative method using a cultural approach. While the techniques used to collect the data that is by observation and interview. The findings obtained from this study is a history of the development of woven fabric of Cual, the types of motifs, such term is contained in the motif, motifs and shapes of fabric inovations, techniques used, as well as a series of processes that have to be done in creating the Cual weaving fabric of Bangka.
