Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kurangnya daya ingin tahu siswa mengenai materi yang diajarkan, sehingga siswa belum mampu mengoptimalkan kemampuan berpikir kritis menjadi permalahan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengukur peningkatan dan mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran melalui pendekatan STEM dengan bantuan media Artsteps, membandingkannya dengan pendekatan Saintifik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasi Experiment dengan desain penelitian Non-equivalent Control Group Designs. Penelitian ini melibatkan sampel sebanyak 31 siswa, pada setiap kelompok eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan STEM dengan bantuan media Artsteps mengalami peningkatan hasil belajar sebesar 0,64, sedangkan pembelajaran yang menggunakan pendekatan saintifik mengalami peningkatan sebesar 0,54. Pembelajaran melalui pendekatan STEM dengan bantuan media Artsteps memberikan pengaruh sebesar 25,9% kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Temuan penelitian ini dapat dirangkum sebagai berikut: (1) Pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan STEM dengan media Artsteps menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran yang menggunakan pendekatan Saintifik; (2) Penerapan pendekatan STEM dengan media Artsteps memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. ----- This research is motivated by a lack of students' curiosity about the material being taught, so that students have not been able to optimize their critical thinking skills, which is a problem. The aim of this research is to measure improvement and determine the effect of learning through the STEM approach with the help of Artsteps media, comparing it with the Scientific approach. This research uses the Quasi Experiment method with a Non-equivalent Control Group Designs research design. This research involved a sample of 31 students, in each experimental group and control class. The results of data analysis show that the application of the STEM approach with the help of Artsteps media experienced an increase in learning outcomes by 0.64, while learning using a scientific approach experienced an increase of 0.54. Learning through the STEM approach with the help of Artsteps media has an influence of 25.9% on students' critical thinking abilities. The findings of this research can be summarized as follows: (1) Learning using the STEM approach with Artsteps media shows a greater increase in critical thinking skills compared to learning using the Scientific approach; (2) The application of the STEM approach with Artsteps media has an influence on increasing students' critical thinking abilities
