Abstract

Hubungan friends with benefits merupakan salah satu bentuk dari casual sex relationship yang pada saat ini didukung oleh sosial media sebagai media untuk menjain hubungan tersebut. Penelitian ini membahas tentang fenomena penggunaan sosial media sebagai media untuk menjalin hubungan friends with benefits. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran kepada para pembaca mengenai bagaimana penggunaan sosial media sebagai media untuk menjalin hubungan friends with benefits. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Untuk teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, serta studi dokumentasi. Sedangkan tahapan dari analisis data pada penelitian ini diawali dengan reduksi data, display data, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa; (1) Gambaran umum proses penggunaan sosial media sebagai media untuk menjalin hubungan friends with benefits menggunakan twitter dan aplikasi kencan online bumble. (2) Bentuk pertukaran dalam hubungan friends with benefits di sosial media berupa pertukaran yang bersifat eksplisit dan berupa pertukaran yang bersifat casual. (3) Faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan seseorang menjalin hubungan friends with benefits di sosial media antara lain; (a) Lingkungan Pertemanan. (b) Faktor Fisiologis. (c) Faktor intimasi dan dukungan emosional. (d) Kemajuan Teknologi. The friends with benefits relationship is one form of casual sex relationship which is currently supported by social media as a medium to maintain the relationship. This research discusses the phenomenon of using social media as a medium to establish a friends with benefits relationship. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview to readers about how the use of social media as a medium to establish a friends with benefits relationship. This research uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods. For data collection techniques in this study, researchers used observation techniques, interviews, and documentation studies. While the stages of data analysis in this study begin with data reduction, data display, and data verification. The results showed that; (1) An overview of the process of using social media as a medium to establish friends with benefits relationships using twitter and the online dating application bumble. (2) The form of exchange in the friends with benefits relationship on social media is in the form of explicit exchanges and casual exchanges. (3) Factors that cause a person to establish a friends with benefits relationship on social media include; (a) Friendship Environment. (b) Physiological factors. (c) Intimacy and emotional support factors. (d) Technological Advances.
