Abstract
Learning media in schools in learning arts and culture is often a problem, one of which is at Al-Huda Sariwangi Vocational School there is no learning media in the form of musical instruments, but the enthusiasm of students is very large in learning arts and culture practices besides that seen from the school environment there are many bamboo trees . This has motivated researchers to improve learning activities by implementing project based learning to make gamelan awi laras salendro at Al-Huda Sariwangi Vocational High School. This study aims to identify and describe the design, process and effectiveness of project based learning implementation of gamelan awi laras salendro at SMK Al-Huda Sariwangi. The research method used is a qualitative research method with an evaluation approach with a summative evaluation model which aims to determine the design, process and effectiveness of the PjBL learning model and the results obtained from research based on student gamelan making projects. The results of this study are expected to provide experience and understanding related to making gamelan awi from the beginning of the process to producing the product. This research is a qualitative research with the steps in the research based on PjBL stages whose results will be evaluated using a summative evaluation. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documentation and questionnaires. The results of this study include design, process and effectiveness which prove the results of the implementation of the PjBL learning model are quite effective in terms of cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. Students more easily understand knowledge about gamelan, care about preserving gamelan, and improve students' skills in making gamelan awi laras salendro and it is hoped that this can become a reference and can become an idea for using a learning model for future researchers.
