    Abstract

    This research is backgrounded by the difficulties faced by students in the learning process of crystal defects. Based on a preliminary study conducted on 50 DPTM students class of 2021, it shows that the main difficulty faced is regarding changes in the atomic arrangement of crystals that occur
    because the media previously used is still in 2D form. One of the efforts made to overcome this problem is by creating multimedia learning based on android applications. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to produce multimedia learning that can facilitate students in mastering crystal defect material, knowing the feasibility of multimedia and knowing students' responses to android-based learning in the crystal defect material engineering material course. The research method used is "DBR" (Design Based Research). Testing of multimedia using expert judgement carried out by media experts and material experts, namely Lecturers at the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education. The results of the research obtained were in the form of multimedia learning which was
    said to be feasible with a percentage of assessment by experts of 82.16% and media experts of 97.32%. Based on the response of student interest, an average percentage of 91% of students were interested in the multimedia used.
