Abstract
ABSTRAK
Informasi, pengetahuan, dan teknologi saat ini telah berkembang dengan sangat pesat
seiring perkembangan dunia yang telah memasuki abad 21. Oleh karena itu, peran lembaga
pendidikan menjadi sangat penting untuk mempersiapkan para siswa agar memiliki
keterampilan abad 21, salah satunya keterampilan berpikir kritis. Keterampilan tersebut
dapat diketahui menggunakan instrumen khusus yang dapat mengidentifikasi keterampilan
berpikir kritis dengan berorientasi pada aspek-aspek keterampilan berpikir kritis yang
disampaikan oleh para ahli. Bentuk-bentuk instrumen yang telah dikembangkan untuk
mengidentifikasi keterampilan berpikir kritis adalah pilihan ganda, essay, dan forced�choice and constructed-response. Namun, pada kenyataannya, bentuk instrumen tersebut
memiliki beberapa kelemahan sehingga kurang mampu mengidentifikasi keterampilan
berpikir kritis secara sempurna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen
four-tier diagnostic test yang dapat mengidentifikasi keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa
sekolah menengah atas pada suhu dan kalor. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah
mixed method dengan exploratory sequential design. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam
penelitian adalah instrumen four-tier diagnostic test dengan 20 butir soal yang berorientasi
pada aspek keterampilan berpikir kritis menurut Facione (2020). Berdasarkan validasi ahli,
tes KBK dikatakan valid yang dianalisis menggunakan uji rater dengan bantuan software
Minifac. Hasil uji coba secara luas dianalisis berdasarkan teori respon butir dengan graded
response model (GRM) menggunakan software eirt 2.0.3. Berdasarkan hasil analisis kurva
karakteristik total, secara keseluruhan, tes KBK memiliki nilai parameter daya pembeda
(a) sebesar 0.58 yang termasuk dalam kategori baik dan nilai parameter tingkat kesukaran
(b) sebesar 0.49 yang dikategorikan berada pada tingkat kesukaran sedang. Perpotongan
antar kurva fungsi informasi dan standard error of measurement (SEM) terletak pada skala
lebih dari -3.87 sehingga tes KBK reliabel untuk mengetahui keterampilan berpikir kritis
siswa yang memiliki kemampuan sangat rendah sampai sangat tinggi.

ABSTRACT
Information, knowledge, and technology are currently developing very rapidly as the
world has entered the 21st century. Therefore, the role of educational institutions is very
important to prepare students to have 21st century skills, one of which is critical thinking
skills. These skills can be identified using special instruments that can measure critical
thinking skills by oriented aspects of critical thinking skills conveyed by experts. The
forms of instruments that have been developed to identify critical thinking skills are
multiple choice, essay, and forced-choice and constructed-response. However, in reality,
the form of the instrument has several weaknesses so that it is less able to identify critical
thinking skills perfectly. This study aims to develop a four-tier diagnostic test instrument
that can identify the critical thinking skills of high school students in Temperature and
Heat. The research method used is mixed methods with exploratory sequential design.
The research instrument used is a four-tier diagnostic test instrument with 20 items
oriented to aspects of critical thinking skills according to Facione (2020). Based on expert
validation, the test is valid which is analyzed using a rater test with Minifac software. The
results of the broad trial were analyzed based on item response theory with the graded
response model (GRM) using the eirt 2.0.3 software. Based on the results of the total
characteristic curve analysis, overall, the KBK test has a discrimination value (a) of 0.58
which is included in the good category and a difficulty parameter value (b) of 0.49 which
is categorized as being at a medium difficulty level. The intersection between the
information function curve and the standard error of measurement (SEM) lies on a scale
more than -3.87 so that the KBK test is reliable to determine the critical thinking skills of
students who have very low to very high abilities.
