Abstract

Kemampuan koneksi matematis adalah kemampuan siswa dalam memahami hubungan antartopik matematika serta hubungan antara matematika dengan bidang lain dan kehidupan sehari-hari. Adversity Quotient (AQ) adalah kemampuan yang dimiliki seseorang dalam menghadapi kesulitan dan mengolahnya dengan kecerdasan yang dimiliki untuk menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa SMP kelas VII ditinjau dari tipe AQ quitters, campers, dan climbers. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMP di Kota Bandung yang telah mempelajari materi bangun ruang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu berupa tes kemampuan koneksi matematis, angket Adversity Response Profile (ARP), dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa tipe AQ quitters dengan kategori kemampuan koneksi matematis rendah belum memenuhi semua indikator, siswa tipe AQ quitters dengan kategori kemampuan koneksi matematis sedang memenuhi satu dari empat indikator, dan siswa tipe AQ quitters dengan kategori kemampuan koneksi matematis tinggi memenuhi tiga dari empat indikator. Siswa tipe AQ campers dengan kategori kemampuan koneksi matematis rendah belum memenuhi semua indikator, siswa tipe AQ campers dengan kategori kemampuan koneksi matematis sedang memenuhi dua dari empat indikator, dan siswa tipe AQ campers dengan kategori kemampuan koneksi matematis tinggi memenuhi seluruh indikator. Tidak ditemukan siswa tipe AQ climbers dengan kategori kemampuan koneksi matematis rendah, siswa tipe AQ climbers dengan kategori kemampuan koneksi matematis sedang memenuhi tiga dari empat indikator dan siswa tipe AQ climbers dengan kategori kemampuan koneksi matematis tinggi memenuhi seluruh indikator. Mathematical connection ability is the ability of students to understand the relationships between mathematical topics and the relationship between mathematics with other fields and daily life. Adversity Quotient (AQ) is the ability of an individual to face difficulties and process them with their intelligence to solve a problem. This research aims to describe the mathematical connection ability of 7th grade junior high school students in terms of the AQ quitters, campers, and climbers types. The method used in this research is a case study with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this research were 7th grade students at a junior high school in Bandung City who had learned geometry. The data collection techniques used were mathematical connection ability tests, the Adversity Response Profile (ARP) questionnaire, and interview guidelines. The results of the research show that the quitter-type student with low mathematical connection ability did not fulfill all indicators, the quitter-type student with moderate mathematical connection ability fulfilled one out of four indicators, and the quitter-type student with high mathematical connection ability fulfilled three out of four indicators. The camper-type student with low mathematical connection ability did not fulfill all indicators, the camper-type student with moderate mathematical connection ability fulfilled two out of four indicators, and the camper-type student with high mathematical connection ability fulfilled all indicators. There was no the climber-type student with low mathematical connection ability, the climber-type student with moderate mathematical connection ability fulfilled three out of four indicators and the climber-type student with high mathematical connection ability fulfilled all indicators.
