Abstract

Aktivitas pembelajaran harus membangun kemampuan berpikir kritis, faktanya masih banyak pembelajaran yang tidak membangun kemampuan berpikir kritis. Hasil pra-penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik di SMA Negeri 1 Bandung berada pada tahap sedang sehingga perlu ditingkatkan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran PBL dan POE terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis di SMA Negeri 1 Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen dengan quasi experimental design (nonequivalent groups pretest-posttest design). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes, pemberian tugas, dan unjuk kinerja. Variabel penelitian adalah model pembelajaran PBL dan POE sebagai variabel independen (X) sedangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis sebagai variabel dependen (Y). Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI IPS 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 dan kelas XI IPS 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen 2. Analisis data mengunakan Uji-t Paired, Uji-t Independent, dan Regresi Linear Sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : 1) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik di kelas eksperimen 1 sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL; 2) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik di kelas eksperimen 2 sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran POE; 3) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen 1 yang menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL dengan kelas eksperimen 2 yang menggunakan model pembelajaran POE, model pembelajaran PBL lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis; 4) terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran PBL terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada eksperimen 1; dan 5) terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran POE terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen 2. Learning activities should be able to develop critical thinking ability, but there are still many learning activity that do not develop critical thinking ability. The results of the pre-research the student's critical thinking ability at SMA Negeri 1 Bandung are at a medium level so that needs to be improved. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of using the PBL and POE learning models on critical thinking ability in SMA Negeri 1 Bandung. This study used an experimental research method with a quasi-experimental design (none equivalent groups pretest-posttest design). Data collection was carried out by tests, assignments, and presentation. The research variables are the PBL and POE learning models as the independent variables (X) while the ability to think critically as the dependent variable (Y). The subjects in this study were students of XI IPS 2 as the experiment class 1 and XI IPS 3 as the experiment class 2. Data analysis using Paired t-test, Independent t-test, and Simple Linear Regression. The results showed that : 1) there were differences in the critical thinking abilities of students in experimental class 1 before and after using the PBL learning model; 2) there were differences in the critical thinking abilities of students in experimental class 2 before and after using the POE learning model; 3) there were differences students' critical thinking ability between experimental class 1 using the PBL learning model and experimental class 2 using the POE learning model, The PBL learning model is more effective in improvement students' critical thinking ability.; 4) there is an effect of using the PBL learning model on students' critical thinking ability in experiment 1; and 5) there is an effect of using the POE learning model on students' critical thinking ability in experimental class 2.
