Abstract

Kemampuan mengenal lambang bilangan pada anak usia dini sangat penting dikembangkan untuk kesiapan dalam mengikuti pembelajaran khususnya dalam penguasaan konsep bilangan matematika. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan mengenal bilangan dan lambangnya pada anak usia 4-5 tahun sebelum dan sesudah penerapan media box of number, juga keefektifan penggunaan media box of number. Metode dalam penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif pre-eksperimen dengan Design One Group Pre-test Post-test. Sampel penelitian Anak Usia 4-5 Tahun di Salah Satu Taman Kanak-kanak Kabupaten Cirebon Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, dapat menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media box of number terhadap kemampuan mengenal bilangan dan lambangnya pada anak usia 4-5 tahun, yang dibuktikan dengan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 47,95 meningkat menjadi 93,35 setelah treatment menggunakan media box of number. Hasil ini diperkuat dengan N-Gain Score sebesar 0,9 > 0,7, yang termasuk dalam kategori tafsiran tinggi. ----- The ability to recognize number symbols in early childhood is very important to develop for readiness in participating in learning, especially in mastering the concept of mathematical numbers. The aim of the study was to determine differences in the ability to recognize numbers and their symbols in children aged 4-5 years before and after the application of the box of number media, as well as the effectiveness of using the box of number media. The method in this study used a quantitative pre-experimental approach with the Design One Group Pre-test Post-test. The research sample is Children Aged 4-5 Years in a Kindergarten in Cirebon Regency for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. Based on the research findings, it can be shown that there is an effect of using the media box of numbers on the ability to recognize numbers and their symbols in children aged 4-5 years, as evidenced by the average pretest score of 47.95 increasing to 93.35 after treatment using the media box of number. This result is reinforced by the N-Gain Score of 0.9 > 0.7, which is included in the high interpretation category. Key words: Media Box Of Number, Number and Symbol, Early Childhood
