Abstract
ABSTRAK PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA E-BOOK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN BELAJAR IPS DAN AKTIVITAS SISWA DI SEKOLAH DASAR Epa Yuningsih 1908051 Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman belajar IPS dan aktivitas siswa. Rendahnya pemahaman dan aktivitas siswa ini dikarenakan kurangnya guru dalam mengeksplor media pembelajaran yang dimana media pembelajaran yang digunakan masih konvensional dengan terpaku kepada buku tematik. Merujuk pada hal tersebut penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media e-book untuk meningkatkan pemahaman belajar IPS dan aktivitas siswa di sekolah dasar. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode research & development (R & D) dengan model ADDIE ( analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate). Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik wawancara awal, lembar validasi produk, kuesioner, dan observasi. Pengembangan desain media e-book dilakukan peneliti berdasarkan kompetensi dasar serta ranah kognitif siswa yang dilengkapi dengan cover, panduan penggunaan, teks, video, dan quis. Hasil penilaian validasi ahli berupa angket menunjukkan bahwa media e-book dikategorikan sangat layak. Media e-book juga diuji cobakan kepada siswa kelas V sekolah dasar melalui pretest dan posttest. Hasil uji coba menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil pretest dan posttest. Selain itu, peneliti melakukan uji Ngain dari pretest dan posttest yang sudah dikerjakan oleh siswa, hasil perhitungan rata-rata menunjukkan bahwa media e-book berada dikategori sedang. Sedangkan persentase aktivitas siswa termasuk kriteria “Sangat Baik”. Dengan demikian implikasi pada penelitian media e-book yang dikembangkan layak dan dapat digunakan oleh pendidik dan siswa sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman belajar IPS dan aktivitas siswa di Sekolah Dasar. Kata kunci: media pembelajaran, media e-book, pemahaman IPS, aktivitas siswa ABSTRACT DEVELOPMENT OF E-BOOK MEDIA TO IMPROVE UNDERSTANDING OF IPS AND STUDENT ACTIVITIES IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS Epa Yuningsih 1908051 This research is motivated by the low understanding of social studies learning and student activity. The low performance and training of these students are due to the lack of teachers in exploring learning media where the learning media used are still conventional by fixating on thematic books and worksheets. This study aims to develop e-book media to improve social studies learning understanding and student activities in elementary schools. This study uses the research & development (R & D) method with the ADDIE model (analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate). Data was collected through initial interview techniques, product validation sheets, questionnaires, and observation. The development of e-book media designs was carried out by researchers based on basic competencies and students' cognitive domains which were equipped with covers, usage guides, texts, videos, and quizzes. The results of the expert validation assessment in the form of numbers show that e-book media is very feasible. The e-book media was also tested on fifth-grade elementary school students by pretest and posttest. The trial results showed an increase in pretest and posttest results. In addition, the researcher conducted the Ngain test from the pretest and posttest that had been done by the students, the average calculation results showed that the e-book media was in the "moderate" category. While the proportion of student activity includes the criteria of "Very Good". So the implication of the study showed that the developed e-book learning media is feasible and can be used by educators and students as learning media to improve social studies learning understanding and student activities in elementary schools.
