Abstract
This research is motivated by the issue of suboptimal employee work motivation. It is aimed at understanding the overview of the influence of the work environment on employee work motivation at the Education Department of West Java Province. The method employed is quantitative descriptive using proportional random sampling technique, distributed to 59 employees at the Education Department of West Java Province. Data analysis was conducted using Microsoft Excel 2019 and SPSS 26 for Windows. To test the research hypothesis, formulas for product-moment correlation analysis, determination test, significance test, and regression test were used. The result of the correlation coefficient test is 0.619, indicating a strong relationship between variable X (Work Environment) and variable Y (Work Motivation). Based on the determination test, 38.3% is obtained, indicating that employee work motivation at the Education Department of West Java Province is determined by the Work Environment, while the rest is influenced by other factors. The significance test yielded a result of 0.00 < 0.05, this concluding that the work environment has a positive and significant correlation with employee work motivation at the Education Department of West Java Province. Therefore, employee work motivation can be enhanced through the improvement of a conducive work environment.
