Abstract

Kemampuan bahasa reseptif merupakan hal yang perlu diperhatikan pada anak usia dini, agar menyimak untuk memahami bahasa yang anak dengar. Beberapa tahun belakangan ini, maraknya lembaga sekolah dan orang tua menerapkan metode read aloud. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan penerapan metode read aloud yang diterapkan di TK Islam El-Fash Kota Tangerang Selatan, berperan pada perkembangan bahasa reseptif anak usia 4-5 tahun. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif, dengan metode penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian berlokasi di TK Islam El-Fash Kota Tangerang Selatan dengan 5 partisipan penelitian. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya penerapan metode read aloud dengan pertimbangan guru dalam memilih buku cerita bergambar berdasarkan buku cerita bergambar yang dipilih mempunyai sedikit kata-kata, lebih banyak gambar dan isi cerita disesuaikan dengan kondisi dan lingkungan terdekat anak. Kemudian, adanya pelibatan anak dalam pemilihan ide cerita. Terdapat faktor pendukung yaitu, pelatihan metode read aloud yang sudah guru dapatkan, ketersediaan ruang perpustakaan dan tersedianya buku bacaan anak dapat mendukung penerapan metode read aloud. Faktor penghambatnya yaitu jika pada awal tahun pelajaran, dibutuhkan motivasi pengkondisian agar anak tertib saat guru menerapkan metode read aloud, serta diperlukannya koleksi buku bacaan yang bermutu. Dampak penerapan metode read aloud dapat mengembangkan kemampuan bahasa reseptif anak. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut diketahui adanya penerapan metode read aloud sehingga berperan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan bahasa reseptif anak usia 4-5 tahun. Rekomendasi penelitian selanjutnya direkomendasikan untuk sekolah, guru, dan peneliti selanjutnya terkait penerapan metode read aloud untuk mengembangkan kemampuan bahasa reseptif anak. Receptive language ability is something that needs to be considered in early childhood, so that listening to understand the language that children hear. In recent years, many school institutions and parents have implemented the read aloud method. This study aims to describe the application of the read aloud method applied in El-Fash Islamic Kindergarten, South Tangerang City, its role in children's receptive language development of children aged 4-5 years. This research approach uses qualitative, with descriptive research methods. The research was located at El-Fash Islamic Kindergarten in South Tangerang City with 5 research participants. The data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation. The findings of this study indicate the application of the read aloud method with the teacher's consideration in choosing picture storybooks based on picture storybooks that are chosen to have fewer words, more pictures and story content adapted to the conditions and the child's immediate environment. Then, there is child involvement in choosing story ideas. There are supporting factors, namely, the read aloud method training that teachers have received, the availability of library space and the availability of children's reading books can support the application of the read aloud method. The inhibiting factor is if at the beginning of the school year, conditioning motivation is needed so that children are orderly when the teacher applies the read aloud method, and the need for a quality reading book collection. The impact of applying the read aloud method can develop children's receptive language skills. From the results of the study, it is known that the application of the read aloud method plays a role in developing the receptive language skills of children aged 4-5 years. Further research recommendations are recommended for schools, teachers, and further researchers related to the application of the read aloud method to develop children's receptive language skills.
