Abstract

The study was aimed to reveal whether or not RSBI and SSN program students at two senior high schools in Subang have positive or negative perception on English teachers’ interpersonal behavior in teacher-student interaction. It was also aimed to reveal the differences between RSBI and SSN students’ perception on English teachers’ interpersonal behavior in teacher-student interaction. The study employed descriptive study. For gathering the data, questionnaire and interview were used. The population of the study was students of the XI grades science and social classes in RSBI and SSN School. The data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The findings of the study showed that RSBI and SSN students perceived more positive interpersonal behaviors of their English teachers than the negative ones. The highest positive perception of RSBI students was understanding aspect and the highest negative perception was strict aspect of teacher. The highest positive perception of SSN students was leadership aspect and the highest negative perception was strict aspect of teacher. The significance value .029 is less than .05 (.029< .05), which means that in general there was a significantlydifferent perception between RSBI and SSN students.
