Abstract

Di era revolusi 4.0, lapangan kerja di bidang STEM mengalami pertumbuhan yang pesat. Indonesia perlu menghasilkan tenaga kerja yang berkualitas di bidang STEM agar dapat bersaing secara global. Namun, kebutuhan akan tenaga kerja yang handal harus sejalan dengan minat mahasiswa untuk berkarier di bidang ini. Tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa tentang STEM memengaruhi tingkat keyakinan diri atau self-efficacy mereka dalam kemampuan di bidang tersebut. Self-efficacy mahasiswa terhadap STEM memiliki peran penting dalam mengembangkan minat karier mereka. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat self-efficacy mahasiswa terhadap STEM, pengembangan minat karier mahasiswa di bidang STEM, dan hubungan antara self-efficacy STEM dengan pengembangan minat karier mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan analisis deskriptif dan regresi linier sederhana. Data dikumpulkan dari 154 mahasiswa DPTE FPTK UPI dengan kuisioner yang disebar melalui Google form. Sebelumnya, mereka diberikan video pembelajaran tentang STEM. Responden dipilih secara acak menggunakan metode simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan, tingkat self-efficacy mahasiswa terhadap STEM termasuk dalam kategori baik, dengan indikator strength memiliki persentase tertinggi dibandingkan indikator generality dan magnitude. Selain itu, pengembangan minat karier mahasiswa di bidang STEM secara keseluruhan termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik, dengan indikator harapan hasil memperoleh persentase tertinggi dibandingkan indikator tujuan pribadi dan ketertarikan pada STEM. Temuan terakhir menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif antara self-efficacy STEM dengan pengembangan minat karier mahasiswa. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah memberikan panduan kepada mahasiswa untuk mengetahui tingkat self-efficacy mereka di bidang STEM agar dapat ditingkatkan guna mengembangkan minat karier mereka di bidang tersebut. However, the demand for skilled professionals must align with students' interest in pursuing careers in this field. The level of students' understanding of STEM significantly impacts their self-efficacy, which is their confidence in their abilities in the field. Students' self-efficacy towards STEM plays a crucial role in developing their career interests. Therefore, this research aims to determine the level of students' self-efficacy in STEM, the development of their career interests in the STEM field, and the relationship between STEM self-efficacy and career interest development. This study employs a quantitative method with descriptive analysis and simple linear regression. Data were collected from 154 DPTE FPTK UPI students using Google forms. Prior to the survey, students were provided with STEM instructional videos. Respondents were selected using simple random sampling. The findings indicate that overall, students demonstrate a good level of self-efficacy in STEM, with the strength indicator having the highest percentage compared to the generality and magnitude indicators. Additionally, the development of students' career interests in the STEM field is categorized as very good, with the indicator of expected outcomes having the highest percentage compared to the indicators of personal goals and interest in STEM. The final findings reveal a positive relationship between STEM self-efficacy and career interest development among students. The implications of this research provide guidance for students to assess and enhance their self�efficacy levels in STEM, thereby nurturing their career interests in the field.
