Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan spatial sense yang belum banyak dikenal sehingga jarang terstimulasi pada proses pembelajaran. Pembelajaran matematika yang cenderung lebih menekankan operasi hitung bilangan juga menjadi salah satu penyebab spatial sense kurang diketahui maryarakat luas. Pengenalan kemampuan spatial sense pada anak usia dini perlu dimanipulasi dengan kegiatan yang aktif dan menyenangkan, media menjadi salah satu komponen pembelajaran yang tidak lepas dari kegiatan belajar dan bermain anak, maka dari itu peneliti bermaksud mengembangkan sebuah media yang sesuai dengan indikator kemampuan spatial sense anak usia dini. Creative math book merupakan media yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti berdasarkan identifikasi masalah, penyusunan dan pengembangan materi, pembuatan dan pengembangan desain media, sehingga menghasilkan media yang utuh dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna di lapangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Educational Design Research yang melibatkan ahli materi dan ahli media yang memiliki kepakaran di bidangnya, kepala sekolah, guru, dan anak usia dini. Proses pengumpulan data didapat melalui wawancara, rating scale untuk memperoleh uji validasi kelayakan media, dan dokumentasi. Proses analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara kuantitatif pada persentase hasil dari rating scale dan dilakukan secara kualitatif pada proses reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil akhir yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini berupa prototype media creative math book sebagai media untuk menstimulasi kemampuan spatial sense untuk anak usia dini yang telah diuji kelayakannya oleh ahli, dan dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa media creative math book terbukti mampu menstimulasi kemampuan spatial sense anak usia dini. ----------- This research is motivated by spatial sense abilities that are not widely known so that they are rarely stimulated in the learning process. Learning mathematics that tends to emphasize number counting operations is also one of the causes of spatial sense is less widely known. The introduction of spatial sense skills in early childhood needs to be manipulated with active and fun activities, media is one component of learning that cannot be separated from children's learning and play activities, therefore researchers intend to develop a media that is in accordance with indicators of early childhood spatial sense abilities. Creative math book is a media developed by researchers based on problem identification, material preparation and development, media design creation and development, so as to produce media that is complete and in accordance with the needs of users in the field. This research uses the Educational Design Research method which involves material experts and media experts who have expertise in their fields, principals, teachers, and early childhood. The data collection process is obtained through interviews, rating scales to obtain media feasibility validation tests, and documentation. The data analysis process in this study was carried out quantitatively on the percentage of results from the rating scale and carried out qualitatively in the process of data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The final results obtained from this study are in the form of prototypes of creative math book media as a medium to stimulate spatial sense skills for early childhood which have been tested for feasibility by experts, and it can be concluded that creative math book media is proven to be able to stimulate early childhood spatial sense abilities.
