Abstract

Penelitian ini menguji tentang peningkatan kemampuan berhitung perkalian antara siswa belajarnya menggunakan teknik cross-line dengan teknik perkalian bersusun ke bawah, kemudian apakah berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berhitung perkalian siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimental dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas III A dan III B SD Negeri Permata Biru. Kelompok pertama adalah kelas III A sebagai kelompok kontrol yang akan melakukan pembelajaran perkalian dengan teknik bersusun ke bawah, dan kelompok kedua adalah kelas III B sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang akan diberikan treatment dengan melakukan pembelajaran perkalian menggunakan teknik cross-line. Analisis data menggunakan uji independent sample t-test, uji one sample t-test dan uji n-gain score. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Nilai rata-rata N-Gain Score kelas eksperiemen meningkat sebesar 64,62%. (2) Nilai rata-rata N-Gain Score pada hasil post-test siswa di kelas eskperimen lebih tinggi yakni 64,62% dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol sebesar 35,80%. (3) Terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berhitung perkalian pada siswa kelas eksperimen. (4) Terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berhitung perkalian antara siswa yang belajarnya dengan menggunakan teknik cross-line dengan yang tidak. Peneliti berharap (1) Hendaknya guru mampu memberikan teknik atau metode lain dalam mengajarkan penyelesaian operasi hitung perkalian, sesuai dengan kemampuan guru dan menarik bagi siswa. (2) Guru membenahi diri sehubung dengan pengajaran yang telah dilakukan dan kemampuan berhitung operasi hitung yang telah dikuasai siswa dengan menggali dan menemukan teknik penyelesaian perkalian yang tepat dan menarik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung perkalian siswa. ------ This study examines the increase in multiplication counting skills between students learning using cross-line techniques with downward multiplication techniques, then whether it has an effect on students' multiplication arithmetic abilities. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects were students of class III A and III B SD Negeri Permata Biru. The first group is class III A as the control group who will do multiplication learning with the technique of stacking down, and the second group is class III B as the experimental group which will be given treatment by doing multiplication learning using cross-line technique. Data analysis used independent sample t-test, one sample t-test and n-gain score test. The results showed that (1) the average value of the N-Gain Score in the experimental class increased by 64.62%. (2) The average value of the N-Gain Score in the post-test results of students in the experimental class was higher, namely 64.62% compared to the control class at 35.80%. (3) There is an increase in multiplication counting ability in experimental class students. (4) There is a difference in the increase in multiplication counting ability between students who learn using the cross-line technique and those who do not. The researcher hopes that (1) the teacher should be able to provide other techniques or methods in teaching the completion of multiplication counting operations, according to the ability of the teacher and interesting for students. (2) The teacher fixes himself in connection with the teaching that has been carried out and the ability to count arithmetic operations that have been mastered by the students by exploring and finding appropriate and interesting multiplication completion techniques to improve students' multiplication counting skills.
