Abstract

Membaca permulaan merupakan kemampuan yang harus dikuasai dan dipelajari oleh siswa ketika di kelas rendah agar siswa tidak mengalami kesulitan saat belajar membaca lanjutan. Pada kenyataan di lapangan, ditemukan bahwa kemampuan membaca siswa kelas I masih terbilang cukup rendah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Pre-Experimental dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas I C yang berjumlah 31 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, rata-rata nilai pretest siswa yaitu sebesar 77,74. Rata-rata nilai posttest siswa yaitu sebesar 88,87. Setelah diberikan treatment kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa mengalami peningkatan, hal tersebut juga dibuktikan dengan hasil uji-t yang diperoleh sig 0,000 < 0,05 sebagai taraf signifikansi, sehingga menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perdedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I sebelum dan setelah menerapkan metode Struktural Analitik Sintetik (SAS) berbantuan media flash card. Serta berdasarkan hasil uji regresi linier sederhana, diketahui bahwa metode Struktural Analitik Sintetik (SAS) berbantuan media flash card memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I sebesar 85% dan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 52% berada pada kategori sedang. Dengan demikian, metode Struktural Analitik Sintetik (SAS) berbantuan media flash card berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I. ----- Early reading is a skill that must be mastered and learned by students in lower grades with the aim of preventing students from experiencing difficulties when learning advanced reading. In reality, it has been found that the reading ability of first-grade students is still relatively low. This study uses the Pre-Experimental research method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The sampel in this study were 31 first-grade students in class C. The results showed that the average pretest score of the students was 77.74. The average posttest score of the students was 88.87. After being given treatment, the reading ability of the students improved, as evidenced by the t-test result obtained sig 0.000 < 0.05 as a significance level, indicating that there is a significant difference in the reading ability of first-grade students before and after applying the Structural Analytic Synthetic (SAS) method with flashcard media assistance. Based on the results of a simple linear regression test, it is known that the Structural Analytic Synthetic (SAS) method with flashcard media assistance has an 85% effect on the reading ability of first-grade students, and the average N-Gain score of 52% is in the medium category. Thus, the Structural Analytic Synthetic (SAS) method with flashcard media assistance has an effect on the reading ability of first-grade students.
