Abstract

This research was set back by the development of technology and communication as well as many online communication media such as chat applications that require people to have good negotiation text writing skills. However, there is a problem in implementing the ability to write negotiated texts in everyday life, one of which is that students are less able to negotiate with teachers about task collection deadlines. For this reason, the Think Talk Write method with the WhatsApp application is applied in learning to write negotiated text. The purpose of this study is to find out if there is a difference between the ability to write text negotiation students in the experimental class who use Think Talk Write methods and WhatsApp applications with students in the control class. This study used a quasi-experimental research method with a pretest-posttest-control group design. The samples in this study were 40 students in the X class of Negeri 16 Bandung State High School who were divided into 20 students in the experiment class and 20 students in the control class. The research instruments used in this study are test and non-test instruments. The test instrument used is a test containing writing instructions while the non-test instrument used is observation. The ability to write negotiated text in the experimental class and in the control class based on independent sample t-test analysis results did not have significant differences. The independent sample t-test analysis results in Sig values. (2-tailed) by 0.959. Signs. (2-tailed) greater than 0.05. Thus, H0 was accepted and Ha was rejected. The average score for negotiating text writing skills before being treated using the Think Talk Write method with WhatsApp application was 67.5, while the average score of students' negotiating text writing skills in the experimental class increased to 80.2. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Think Talk Write method with WhatsApp applications is effectively used in learning to write negotiated texts.The ability to write negotiated text in the experimental class and in the control class based on independent sample t-test analysis results did not have significant differences. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Think Talk Write method with WhatsApp applications is effectively used in learning to write negotiated texts.
