Abstract
The study aims to determine the effect of body image on social anxiety mediated by self-confidence in adolescents with scoliosis in the Indonesian Scoliosis Community. The study involved 227 youth with scoliosis in the Indonesian community of scoliosis with an age range of 10-22 years. Respondents filled out the Body Image questionnaire, the Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents (SAS-A) questionnaire, and the self-confidence questionnaire adapted by the researcher. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis with the help of the SPSS version 25 program. The results showed the results of self-confidence as a mediating variable from the effect of body image on social anxiety with a significance value of -0.274 (p>0.05). Based on the results, it can be concluded that there is an effect of an effective mediating variable on body image on social anxiety through the self-confidence variable in adolescents with scoliosis in the Indonesian Scoliosis Community.
