Abstract
The aims of this research was to find out Effectifity of a Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) Approach to learning outcomes on negative integer arithmetic operations of VI grade elementary school students. This research is motivated by student learning outcomes in the material of arithmetic operations on negative integers that still need to be improved. The instrument in this research was in the form of pretest – posttest test questions of a matter of form of five essay questions given to the control class and the experimental class. This research model is in the form of quantitative research with a research design using a quasi-experiment. The quasi-experimental form used was the purposive Control Group Pretest – Posttest Design. The data analysis technique is by conducting statistical tests with the help of the Statistical Program for Social Science (SPSS) application. Results obtained based on the calculation, the results obtained are Asymp sig (2-tailed) < 0.001 it turns out that this value is smaller than the probability value α 0.05 so that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) states that there are differences in increasing learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. So it can be stated that the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach is felt to be more effective for improving student learning outcomes in material arithmetic operations on negative integers.
