Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keterampilan membaca permulaan dari siswa kelas 1 SDN 8 Nagrikaler yang masih tergolong rendah. Hal ini dikarenakan kebiasaan guru tidak menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kegiatan membaca. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dapat mengetahui pengaruh metode reading aloud berbantuan flashcard di kelas 1 Sekolah Dasar Negeri 8 Nagrikaler Kabupaten Purwakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian pre-eksperimental. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas 1 berjumlah 24 orang yang merupakan kelas eksperimen. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa : (1) terdapat peningkatan antara sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode reading aloud berbantuan flashcard terhadap keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 46,44 yang meningkat pada nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 60,29 (2) adanya pengaruh metode reading aloud berbantuan flashcard terhadap keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa. Hal ini berdasarkan hasil uji t diperoleh nilai sig 0,000 < 0,05 sebagai taraf signifikansi. Sehingga hipotesis H1 bahwa ada pengaruh metode reading aloud berbantuan flashcard terhadap keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I SDN 8 Nagrikaler Kabupaten Purwakarta diterima. Besar pengaruh tersebut dapat dilihat pada uji determinasi (R Square) sebesar 0,878 yang artinya besar pengaruh metode reading aloud berbantuan flashcard adalah 87,8% serta hasil rata-rata N-gain yaitu sebesar 0,30 yang artinya peningkatan nilai rata-rata menggunakan metode reading aloud berbantuan flashcard berada pada kategori sedang. ----- This research was motivated by the early reading skills of grade 1 students at SDN 8 Nagrikaler, which were still relatively low. This is due to the teacher's habit of not using learning methods that are appropriate for reading activities. This study aims to determine the effect of the reading aloud-assisted flashcard in grade 1 of SD Negeri 8 Nagrikaler, Purwakarta Regency. This research uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design. The subjects in this study, namely class 1, consisted of 24 people who were in the experimental class. Methods of data collection using the methods of observation, testing, and documentation. The findings revealed that: (1) there was an increase in students' early reading skills before and after using the reading aloud-assisted flashcard. This is evidenced by the pretest average score of 46.44, which increased to the posttest average score of 60.29 (2) the effect of the reading aloud-assisted flashcard on students' early reading skills. This is based on the results of the t test, which obtained a sig value of 0.000 <0.05 as a significance level. As a result, the H1 hypothesis is accepted: there is an effect of the reading aloud-assisted flashcard on the early reading skills of first grade students at SDN 8 Nagrikaler, Purwakarta Regency. The magnitude of this influence can be seen in the determination test (R square) of 0.878, which means that the effect of the reading aloud-assisted flashcard is 87.8%, and the average N-gain result is 0.30, which means that the increase in average value using the reading aloud-assisted flashcard is in the medium category.
