Abstract

Kecerdasan emosional merupakan kemampuan individu dalam menyadari dan mengatur emosi diri, memotivasi diri, memahami perasaan orang lain serta mampu membina hubungan sosial dengan orang lain. Prestasi belajar merupakan hasil yang didapat oleh peserta didik selama proses pembelajaran dilihat dari aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor. Peserta didik kelas V berada pada masa anak usia sekolah atau pertengahan, masa ini anak mulai menyadari bahwa pengungkapan emosi secara kasar tidaklah diterima atau tidak disenangi oleh orang lain. Oleh karena itu, anak belajar untuk mengendalikan dan mengontrol ekspresi emosinya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan prestasi belajar peserta didik Kelas V SDN Margahayu 6 Kabupaten Bandung serta implikasi layanan bimbingan dan konseling yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik. Alasan penelitian ini dilakukan agar guru Bimbingan dan Konseling atau guru kelas lebih perhatian kembali dengan kebutuhan peserta didik sehingga kecerdasan emosional dan kecerdasan intelegensi anak berkembang secara beiringan dan optimal sesuai dengan masa perkembangannya. Pada penelitian ini desain pendekatan korelasional digunakan untuk memberikan gambaran seberapa erat tingkat hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan prestasi belajar peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang sangat rendah dan tidak signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan prestasi belajar peserta didik Kelas V di SDN Margahayu 6 Kabupaten Bandung. Emotional intelligence is the ability of individuals to realize and regulate their own emotions, motivate themselves, understand the feelings of others and be able to build social relationships with others. Learning achievement is the result obtained by students during the learning process seen from the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Fifth grade students are at school or middle age, at this time the child begins to realize that violent expression of emotions is not accepted or disliked by others. Therefore, children learn to control and control their emotional expressions. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and the learning achievement of fifth grade students at SDN Margahayu 6, Bandung Regency, as well as the implications of guidance and counseling services that suit the needs of students. The reason for this research was carried out so that the Guidance and Counseling teacher or class teacher pays more attention to the needs of students so that children's emotional intelligence and intelligence develop simultaneously and optimally according to their developmental period. In this study the design of the correlational approach was used to provide an overview of how close the level of relationship between emotional intelligence and student learning achievement is. The results showed that there was a very low and insignificant relationship between emotional intelligence and the learning achievement of Class V students at SDN Margahayu 6, Bandung Regency.
