Abstract

This research discuss quranic recitation learning in public school. The main problem of this research is most of graduate of public school aren’t able to recite Al-Quran as well. In fact, they spend 12 years to learn how to recite Al-Quran in public school. Hence, the urgent assumption of this research is claim that National curricula is the core of this problem. Based on that, the research aims to criticize National curricula from the aspects: content, mapping, and coherence between scholars curriculum. These aspects are limited on quranic recitation learning context only. The books of tajwid such as Al-Muqaddimah Al-Jazari ext. are used as the standard to criticize. To answer the questions, this research used qualitative content analysis. The steps of this method include: preparation, data organization, and presentation. The findings of research include several points. First, quranic learning recitation is designed followed curriculum’s components, include: objectives, material, progress, and evaluation. Second, there are two mapping to describe student ability in quranic recitation, i.e: general mapping, and specific mapping. Third, in general the content of National curricula and their mapping are coherence with scholars curriculum. However, several important details aren’t coherence with it, such as: misconception, uncomprehensive, and unsustainable. Hence, the National curricula’s coherence impact to quranic recitation direction as well. Nevertheless, the several points of Curricula which aren’t coherence to purse quranic recitation learning success in public school. Based on that, several recommendations are given to education’s organizers to do, in order to make better quranic recitation learning.
