Abstract
----- This research is motivated by the problem of children's literacy that is not optimal, where there are children who do not know letters. Therefore, this study aims to apply the Game Based Learning method to improve early childhood literacy skills. Indicators of improved literacy skills in this study were the ability to name known letter symbols and name objects that start with the same letter. In this study, researchers used the Pelton model with three actions. Each action consists of five stages, namely problem identification, data collection, action planning, action implementation, and results assessment. Data were obtained through child observation sheets, teacher observation sheets, field notes, and documentation. The analysis used is descriptive analysis during the learning process, and for quantitative data the researcher displays data on the number of students who get the BB, MB, BSH, BSB criteria. The research results obtained show that literacy skills have increased gradually in each action. From these results it can be concluded that the application of the Game Based Learning method can improve early childhood literacy skills. This research can also be a reference for PAUD learning activities, because with the application of the Game Based Learning method children are interested in learning about literacy.
