Abstract

ABSTRAK Gerakan literasi sekolah dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan minat baca dan kemampuan literasi supaya siswa memiliki pengetahuan yang lebih baik. IPS menjadi salah satu mata pelajaran yang memerlukan pemahaman konsep secara menyeluruh, sehingga siswa perlu banyak membaca supaya dapat memahami konsep IPS secara penuh dan baik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui implementasi program GLS di SMPN 45 Bandung dan mengetahui pengaruh implementasi program GLS terhadap minat baca IPS siswa kelas VIII di SMPN 45 Bandung. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif menggunakan metode campuran (mixed methods) dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan kuesioner berupa google form. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 45 Bandung tahun ajaran 2019/2020 dengan jumlah sampel 125 siswa, menggunakan teknik sampling stratifield propotional random sampling. Hasil temuan dari penelitian adalah: 1) implementasi program GLS di SMPN 45 Bandung dilaksanakan dalam beberapa tahap: (a) perencanaan dengan membentuk tim literasi sekolah, sosialisasi, serta membangun fasilitas literasi; dan (b) pelaksanaan dilakukan kegiatan membaca 15 menit sebelum pelajaran, kegiatan pekan bahasa, memberikan penghargaan, dan memasukkan kegiatan literasi ke mata pelajaran. 2) Implementasi GLS mempunyai pengaruh positif terhadap minat baca IPS. Hal tersebut menunjukkan semakin baik implementasi GLS di SMP Negeri 45 Bandung akan berdampak pada minat baca IPS siswa yang semakin tinggi. 3) Perilaku siswa setelah adanya GLS menunjukkan perilaku membaca yang cukup baik seperti terbentuknya kebiasaan membaca, kemampuan public speaking, kegiatan menulis, meningkatnya kunjungan ke perpustakaan, dan berpikir kritis dalam menanggapi hasil bacaan. Oleh karena itu, implementasi GLS di SMPN 45 Bandung dapat terus ditingkatkan dan diperbaiki. Kata kunci: Implementasi Program, Gerakan Literasi Sekolah, Minat Baca IPS. ABSTRACT The school literacy movement is carried out to increase reading interest and literacy skills so that students have better knowledge. Social Studies is one of the subjects that requires a thorough understanding of concepts, so students need to read a lot in order to fully and well understand the concept of Social Sciences. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the GLS program at SMPN 45 Bandung and to determine the effect of the implementation of the GLS program on the social studies reading interest of class VIII students at SMPN 45 Bandung. This research is a descriptive study using mixed methods with data collection techniques through interviews and questionnaires in the form of google form. The population in this study was class VIII SMPN 45 Bandung in the academic year 2019/2020 with a sample of 125 students, using the stratifield proportional random sampling technique. The findings of the research are: 1) the implementation of the GLS program at SMPN 45 Bandung is carried out in several stages: (a) planning by forming a school literacy team, socializing, and building literacy facilities; and (b) carrying out reading activities 15 minutes before lessons, language week activities, giving awards, and incorporating literacy activities into subjects. 2) The implementation of GLS has a positive influence on the interest in social studies reading. This shows that the better the implementation of the GLS in SMP Negeri 45 Bandung will have an impact on the students' reading interest in social studies which is getting higher. 3) Student behavior after the GLS shows good reading behavior such as the formation of reading habits, public speaking skills, writing activities, increased visits to the library, and critical thinking in responding to reading results. Therefore, the implementation of GLS at SMPN 45 Bandung can continue to be improved and improved. Keywords: Program Implementation, School Literacy Movement, Social Studies Reading Interest.
