Abstract

ABSTRAK Pada masa pandemi covid-19 kegiatan pembelajaran beralih menjadi pembelajaran jarak jauh dan pembelajaran tatap muka terbatas. Kebijakan tersebut berdampak pada penurunan motivasi belajar siswa yang disebabkan kurangnya interaksi antara guru dan siswa, kegiatan belajar yang monoton serta terlalu banyak tugas. Terdapat dua jenis motivasi, yaitu motivasi instrinsik yang berasal dari diri dalam diri peserta didik dan motivasi ekstrinsik, yaitu motivasi yang berasal dari luar diri peserta didik salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh stimulus dari guru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini, yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh kompetensi guru terhadap motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sosiologi di masa pandemi covid-19. Penelitian ini perlu dilakukan sebagai acuan guru untuk meningkatkan kompetensinya. Pendekatan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode kuantitatif deskriptif, lokasi penelitian di SMAN Cimanggung dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 208 siswa jurusan IPS. Temuan hasil penelitian ini, yaitu: (1) tingkat optimalisasi kompetensi guru sosiologi di masa pandemi covid-19 tergolong sedang, kompetensi pedagogik memiliki tingkat optimalisasi yang paling tinggi, dan kompetensi sosial memiliki tingkat optimalisasi paling rendah, (2) tingkat motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sosiologi di masa pandemi covid-19 tergolong sedang, indikator mandiri dalam belajar memiliki tingkat yang paling tinggi dan indikator adanya kegiatan yang menarik dalam belajar memiliki nilai yang paling rendah, (3) terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara kompetensi guru dan motivasi belajar siswa, sehingga kompetensi guru memiliki pengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. ABSTRACT During the COVID-19 pandemic, learning activities switched to distance learning and limited face-to-face learning. This policy has an impact on the decline in student motivation due to lack of interaction between teachers and students, monotonous learning activities and too many assignments. There are two types of motivation, namely intrinsic motivation that comes from within students and extrinsic motivation, namely motivation that comes from outside of students, one of which is influenced by stimulus from the teacher. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of teacher competence on students' learning motivation in sociology subjects during the covid-19 pandemic. This research needs to be done as a reference for teachers to improve their competence. The approach used in this research is descriptive quantitative method, the research location is at SMAN Cimanggung with a total sample of 208 students majoring in social studies. The findings of this study are: (1) the level of optimization of the competence of sociology teachers during the covid-19 pandemic is moderate, pedagogic competence has the highest level of optimization, and social competence has the lowest level of optimization, (2) the level of student learning motivation in Sociology subjects during the covid-19 pandemic were classified as moderate, independent indicators in learning had the highest level and indicators of interesting activities in learning had the lowest scores, (3) there was a positive and significant relationship between teacher competence and learning motivation students, so that teacher competence has an influence on student learning motivation.
