Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan utama dimana pemelajar bahasa Korea pemula sering mengalami kesulitan dalam menyusun kata-kata menjadi kalimat bahasa Korea yang benar. Hal tersebut dapat terjadi karena adanya perbedaan pola kalimat antara bahasa Korea dan bahasa Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji penggunaan model pembelajaran scramble kalimat untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menyusun kalimat sederhana bahasa Korea. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest. Dua puluh siswa tingkat satu yang tergabung dalam Homey Korean Language and Culture Community terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Pretest dan posttest disajikan dalam bentuk isian singkat yang digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan siswa sebelum dan sesudah menerima perlakuan. Setelah itu, kuesioner skala Likert juga diujikan untuk mendapatkan tanggapan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan awal siswa sebelum mendapatkan perlakuan tergolong cukup. Namun setelah mendapatkan perlakuan, kemampuan siswa dalam menyusun kalimat sederhana bahasa Korea mengalami peningkatan dan dapat dikategorikan sangat baik. Kemudian, hasil uji-t juga menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan (t-hitung 3,373 > t-tabel 2,093 pada taraf signifikansi 5%). Selain itu, hasil angket menunjukkan bahwa tanggapan siswa setelah menerima perlakuan sangat positif. Kata Kunci: Bahasa korea, scramble kalimat, teknik mengajar, kemampuan menyusun kalimat. This research was prompted by the main problem of novice Korean students in learning to compose Korean sentences in which they often found difficulties in arranging the words into correct sentences. This might be due to the differences in sentence patterns between Korean and Indonesian. Hence, this study was to examine the use of sentence scramble technique to enhance the students’ ability to compose simple Korean sentences. This study used a quantitative approach using an experimental research method with one-group pretest-posttest design. Twenty students in level one who are members of the Homey Korean Language and Culture Community were involved in this research. A pretest and posttest in the forms of short entries was employed to measure the students' ability before and after receiving the treatment. Afterwards, a Likert-scale questionnaire was sent to get the students’ responses. The results showed that the students' initial ability before getting the treatment was categorized fairly sufficient. But after receiving the treatment, the students’ ability to compose simple Korean sentences was enhanced, which were categorized very good. Then, the results of the t-test also showed that there was a significant difference between the students' abilities before and after receiving the treatment (t-observed 3.373 > t-table 2.093 at a significance level of 5%). Additionally, the results of the questionnaire exhibited that the students’ responses after receiving the treatment was convincingly positive.
