Abstract

Kemampuan berpikiri kritis dipandang mampu membuat siswa memiliki banyak cara dalam menyelesaikan berbagai persoalan masalah dengan persepsi dan cara yang berbeda-beda. Namun faktanya kemampuan berpikir kritis jarang dilatih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran menggunakan model PBL, menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi kelangkaan ekonomi dan kebutuhan manusia, serta pengaruh model PBL terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes uraian kemampuan berpikir kritis (pretest-posstest), dan angket respon siswa. Hasil temuan dalam penelitian ini bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menggunakan model PBL diperoleh hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan uji independent sample t-test di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol hasil posttest diperoleh Sig <α, yaitu 0,000 < 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan mengenai kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model PBL berbantuan media video dengan kelas kontrol sebagai kelas pembanding yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional ceramah tanya jawab. ----The ability to think critically makes students have many ways of solving various problem problems with different perceptions and practices. This study aims to describe learning using the PBL model, analyzing the ability to think critically about material economic scarcity and human needs, and the effect of PBL Model on students’s critical thinking skills. The research method used is a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design. The instruments used are a test for the description of critical thinking skills (pretest-posttest), and a questionnaire of student responses. The findings in this study that students' critical thinking ability using the Problem Based Learning learning model obtained hypothesis test results using independent sample t-test in the experimental class and control class in the posttest results were obtained by Sig < α, namely 0.000 < 0.05 so that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there are significant differences regarding students' critical thinking ability in social studies learning in pretest or initial measurements in practical classes using the PBL model using video media with control classes as comparison classes that use conventional
