Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah, komunikasi dan representasi matematis adalah kemampuan yang sangat penting bagi siswa. Salah satu cara untuk mengembangkan kemampuan tersebut adalah melalui pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBM). Melalui PBM, materi pelajaran disajikan dalam bentuk masalah yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari sehingga memudahkan pemahaman siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah, komunikasi dan representasi matematis siswa SMP melalui penerapan pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) kemampuan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, komunikasi dan representasi matematis siswa yang mendapatkan PBM lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan PMK, (2) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, komunikasi dan representasi siswa yang mendapatkan PBM berdasarkan level sekolah dan KAM siswa, (3) tidak terdapat pengaruh interaksi antara level sekolah dan model pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah, komunikasi dan representasi matematis siswa, (4) tidak terdapat pengaruh interaksi antara KAM siswa dan model pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, komunikasi dan representasi matematis siswa. The ability of mathematical problem solving, communication and representation is very important for students. One way to develop this abilities is the implementation of problem-based learning (PBL). Through PBL, subject matter is presented in the form of problems related to daily life to make it easier for students’ understanding. The purpose of this research is to analyze mathematical problem solving, communication and representation abilities of junior high school students by the implementation of problem-based learning. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that: (1) mathematical problem solving, communication and representation abilities of students who treated under PBL are better than the students who treated under CML, (2) there are differences in mathematical problem solving, communication and mathematical abilities of students who treated under PBL based on school level and students prior knowledge of mathematics, (3) there is no interaction effects between school-level and learning model towards mathematical problem solving, communication and representation abilities; (4) there is no interaction effects between students prior knowledge of mathematics and learning model towards mathematical problem solving, communication and representation abilities.
