Abstract

Penelitian ini berangkat dari permasalahan sikap individualistis pada siswa yang terlihat jelas selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Tepatnya di saat peneliti mencoba mengondisikan siswa untuk belajar secara kelompok namun berakhir dengan siswa yang berdebat satu sama lain karena merasa dirinya yang paling benar. Hal tersebut diakibatkan dari guru yang kurang bervariasi dalam menggunakan model pembelajaran sehingga saat proses pembelajaran tidak banyak melibatkan siswa untuk aktif berinteraksi dan bekerja sama dengan siswa lainnya. Karakter gotong royong penting untuk ditumbuhkan dalam diri siswa karena baik dalam kurikulum 2013 maupun kurikulum baru, yaitu kurikulum merdeka, menekankan pembelajaran untuk berpusat pada siswa. Hal ini juga berlandaskan dari pembelajaran abad 21 di mana siswa harus memiliki keterampilan 4C (Creative, Critical Thinking, Communication, dan Collaboration) agar dapat beradaptasi dengan perkembangan zaman, dan peneliti berfokus pada keterampilan kolaborasi. Sejalan dengan peristiwa tersebut, mengondisikan siswa untuk belajar dalam kelompok merupakan salah satu alternatif pilihan yang baik dan siswa membutuhkan karakter gotong royong dalam dirinya untuk itu. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, peneliti memilih model cooperative learning tipe think pair share dalam pembelajaran PKn untuk diterapkan dalam tindakan penelitian dengan tujuan meningkatkan karakter gotong royong pada siswa. Cooperative learning tipe think pair share dirasa cocok karena dalam proses pembelajarannya banyak menekankan siswa untuk berdiskusi dan bekerja sama. Pelajaran PKn dipilih karena isi materinya merupakan cerminan dari nilai-nilai ideologi negara Indonesia dan salah satunya adalah gotong royong. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III SD yang berjumlah 27 orang. Terdapat dua jenis data yaitu data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif berupa hasil pengamatan peneliti dan data kuantitatif berupa hasil dari angket siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakter gotong royong siswa dapat ditingkatkan pada siklus I dengan nilai rata-rata 84,6 kemudian mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II dengan nilai rata-rata 86,1, dan keduanya masuk dalam kriteria “Sangat Baik”. This research departs from the problem of individualistic attitudes in students which is clearly visible during the learning process. Precisely when the researcher tried to condition students to study in groups but ended up with students arguing with each other because they felt they were the most correct. This is caused by teachers who are less varied in using learning models so that when the learning process does not involve many students to actively interact and cooperate with other students. The character of mutual cooperation is important to grow in students because both the “Kurikulum 2013” and the new curriculum, namely the “Kurikulum Merdeka”, emphasize student-centered learning. It is also based on 21st century learning where students must have 4C skills (Creative, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Collaboration) in order to adapt to the times, and researchers focus on collaboration skills. In line with this, conditioning students to study in groups is a good alternative and students need the character of mutual cooperation in themselves for that. By using the classroom action research method (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles, the researchers chose a cooperative learning model of think pair share type in Civics learning to be applied in action research with the aim of fostering the character of mutual cooperation in students. Cooperative learning model of think pair share type is considered suitable because in the learning process a lot of emphasis is placed on students to discuss and work together. Civics lessons were chosen because the content of the material is a reflection of the values of the Indonesian state ideology and one of them is mutual cooperation. The subjects in this study were the third grade elementary school students, totaling 27 people. There are two types of data, namely qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data in the form of observations of researchers and quantitative data in the form of results from student questionnaires. The results showed that the students' mutual cooperation character could be improve in the first cycle with an average value of 84.6 then increased in the second cycle with an average value of 86.1, and both were included in the "Very Good" criteria.
