Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh temuan peneliti di lapangan yaitu rendahnya keterampilan membaca permulaan di SDN 1 Nagrikidul. Rendahnya minat dan motivasi siswa pada pembelajaran membaca, hal tersebut berdampak hasil belajar membaca siswa. Solusi dari permasalahan tersebut, peneliti memberikan alternatif pembelajaran dengan penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning Type Make a Match berbantuan media kartu huruf dan gambar di kelas I SDN Nagrikidul. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil peningkatan aktivitas guru, aktivitas siswa dan keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa setelah penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning Type Make a Match berbantuan media kartu huruf dan gambar. Bentuk penelitian yang dilakukan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Desain penelitian memiliki beberapa komponen yaitu perencanaan, pelaksannaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes, observasi dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning Type Make a Match persentase rata-rata aktivitas guru pada siklus I 69,4% meningkat menjadi 86% pada siklus II. Persentase aktivitas siswa 58% pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 79% pada siklus II. Hasil belajar siswa dengan rata-rata nilai 72,5 dengan persentase ketuntasan 55% pada siklus I dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II dengan nilai rata-rata nilai 80,75 dengan persentase siswa yang tuntas 100%. Hasil penelitian ini bahwa penerapan pembelajaran Cooperative Learning Type Make a Match berbantuan media kartu huruf dan gambar dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I SDN Nagrikidul. ----- This research was motivated by the findings of researchers in the field, namely the low initial reading skills at SDN 1 Nagrikidul. The low interest and motivation of students in learning to read, this has an impact on students' reading learning outcomes. The solution to these problems, researchers provide alternative learning by applying the Cooperative Learning Type Make a Match learning model assisted by letter and picture card media in class I SDN Nagrikidul.This study aims to describe the results of increasing teacher activity, student activity and students' initial reading skills after the application of the Cooperative Learning Type Make a Match learning model assisted by letter and picture card media. The form of research carried out is Classroom Action Research by Kemmis and Mc Taggart's model. The research design has several components, namely planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. The research instrument uses tests, observations and documentation. Based on research results, after applying the Cooperative Learning Type Make a Match learning model, the average percentage of teacher activity in the first cycle was 69.4% increased to 86% in the second cycle. The percentage of student activity 58% in the first cycle increased to 79% in the second cycle. Student learning outcomes with an average value of 72.5 with a percentage of completeness 55% in the first cycle and increased in the second cycle with an average value of 80.75 with the percentage of students who completed 100%. The results of this study indicate that the application of Cooperative Learning Type Make a Match learning assisted by letter and picture cards can improve the initial reading skills of first grade students at SDN Nagrikidul.
