Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mereduksi miskonsepsi peserta didik pada konsep usaha dan energi melalui penerapan pembelajaran PDEODE berbantuan Refutational Texts. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian campuran (mixed methods) dengan desain peneltian yang digunakan yaitu embedded experimental design. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Lembar Observasi Keterlaksanaan Pembelajaran, instrumen WE-MusT (Work and Energy in Multitiers Test), Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD). Partisipan yang terdapat dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 36 peserta didik (6 laki-laki dan 30 perempuan) kelas XI di salah satu SMA di Jawa Tengah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan pembelajaran PDEODE berbantuan refutational texts memperoleh rata-rata persentase sebesar 92%, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran PDEODE berbantuan refutational texts berlangsung sangat baik. Perubahan persentase yang didapatkan untuk miskonsepsi yaitu sebesar 29% (berdasarkan hasil pretest) dan 16% (berdasarkan hasil posttest). Rata-rata persentase kuantitas penurunan miskonsepsi berdasarkan hasil pretest dan posttest yaitu sebesar 0,4%, hal ini menunjukkan kuantitas penurunan miskonsepsi termasuk kategori sedang. Efektivitas penerapan pembelajaran diperoleh menggunakan perumusan effect size, nilai effect size yang didapatkan yaitu sebesar 0,87 dengan kategori besar. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran PDEODE berbantuan refutational texts memiliki dampak yang besar sehingga dapat dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk mereduksi miskonsepsi pada konsep usaha dan energi. The aim of this study is to unveil students’ misconceptions on the work and energy concept through the implementation of PDEODE assisted by Refutational Texts. The method utilized in this research is mixed method research through embedded experimental design. The instrument that utilized in this study consisted of observation sheets, instruments diagnostic WE-MusT (Work and Energy in Multitiers Test) and PDEODE worksheets. The participants in this study amounted to 36 (6 male and 30 female) eleventh-grade students in one of the high schools in Central Java. The result shows that implementation of PDEODE-assisted refutational texts learning obtained a percentage of 92%, it could be indicated that implementation of PDEODE-assisted refutational texts learning is very well done. The reconstruction of students misconceptions could be seen by the misconceptions percentage decrease of 29% (based on the pretest result) become 16% (based on the posttest result). The percentage of a decreased misconception of quantity is 0.4% with a moderate interpretation. The effectiveness of learning is the rate measured using the calculation of effect size value obtained is 0.87 with a high interpretation. It can be concluded that the PDEODE assisted by refutational texts have a big impact for unveil students’ misconceptions on work and energy concept.
