Abstract

Menulis adalah salah satu keterampilan berbahasa yang perlu dikuasai oleh peserta didik. dalam kegiatan menulis perlu menguasai ejaan yang berlaku mengacu pada PUEBI. Keterampilan menulis tidak hanya melihat isi tulisan saja tapi harus memperhatikan huruf kapital sesuai ejaan yang ada sehingga peserta didik dapat menulis dengan landasan pengajaran bahasa yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan huruf kapital dengan 4 indikator pada teks nonfiksi tema pahlawanku.Metode yang digunakan yaitu analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, dan teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes dan dokumentasi. Tes dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali dengan judul teks yang berbeda dari 25 peserta didik. Hasil penelitian nilai rata-rata peserta didik yang sudah mencapai atau melampaui KKM dalam penerapan huruf kapital pada teks nonfiksi yaitu sebanyak 17 peserta didik. Kesimpulan penelitian ini peserta didik yang dapat menerapkan huruf kapital untuk indikator awal kalimat 64%, untuk indikator nama orang 72%, untuk nama geografi 60%, dan untuk indikator nama bulan(waktu) 80%.Penyebab kesalahan penerapan huruf kapital berdasarkan temuan di lapangan peserta didik kurang teliti dalam menulis huruf besar dan huruf kecil dan pada tanda baca titik yang ada pada teks, serta siswa belum menguasai aturan ejaan yang berlaku, yang mana mengacu pada PUEBI. Kata Kunci : huruf kapital, teks nonfiksi, PUEBI Writing is one of the language skills that need to be mastered by students. In writing activities, it is necessary to master the applicable spelling referring to PUEBI. Writing skills do not only look at the content of writing but must pay attention to capital letters according to the existing spelling so that students can write on the basis of good language teaching. This study aims to analyze the application of capital letters with 4 indicators in the non-fiction text of my hero theme. The method used is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach, and data collection techniques in the form of tests and documentation. The test was conducted three times with different text titles from 25 students. The results of the research on the average value of students who have reached or exceeded the KKM in the application of capital letters in non-fiction texts are 17 students. The conclusion of this study is that students who can apply capital letters for the initial indicator of sentences are 64%, for indicators of people's names 72%, for geographic names 60%, and for indicators of month(time) names 80%. The cause of errors in applying capital letters is based on findings in the field students are less careful in writing uppercase and lowercase letters and punctuation marks in the text, and students have not mastered the applicable spelling rules, which refers to PUEBI.
