Abstract
Kemampuan literasi matematis merupakan salah satu kemampuan matematis yang berperan penting bagi siswa dan diharapkan siswa memiliki kemampuan literasi matematis yang baik. Adversity Quotient (AQ) merupakan kecerdasan yang dibutuhkan siswa untuk menghadapi kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal literasi matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa SMP ditinjau dari Adversity Quotient (AQ). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah delapan siswa kelas VIII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung, yang terdiri dari dua siswa dengan AQ tipe climber, empat siswa dengan AQ tipe camper, dan dua siswa dengan AQ tipe quitter. Data penelitian ini diambil melalui angket Adversity Quotient (AQ), tes kemampuan literasi matematis, dan wawancara. Kemampuan literasi matematis subjek penelitian diidentifikasi dengan tiga indikator kemampuan literasi matematis, yaitu indikator merumuskan situasi secara matematis, indikator menerapkan konsep, fakta, prosedur dan penalaran matematika, dan indikator menafsirkan, menerapkan dan mengevaluasi hasil matematika. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa subjek climber mampu memenuhi tiga indikator kemampuan literasi matematis, yaitu merumuskan situasi secara matematis, menerapkan konsep, fakta, prosedur dan penalaran matematika, serta menafsirkan, menerapkan dan mengevaluasi hasil matematika. Subjek camper cenderung hanya mampu memenuhi dua indikator kemampuan literasi matematis, yaitu merumuskan situasi secara matematis dan menerapkan konsep, fakta, prosedur dan penalaran matematika. Sedangkan subjek quitter hanya mampu memenuhi satu indikator kemampuan literasi matematis yaitu merumuskan situasi secara matematis. Mathematical literacy ability is one of the mathematical abilities that play an important role for students and students are expected to have good mathematical literacy ability. Adversity Quotient (AQ) is the intelligence needed by students to face difficulties in solving mathematical literacy problems. This study aims to describe the mathematical literacy ability of junior high school students in terms of Adversity Quotient (AQ). This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach. The subjects of this study were eight students of class VIII in one of the public junior high schools in Bandung, consisting of two students with climber type AQ, four students with camper type AQ, and two students with quitter type AQ. The data of this research were taken through Adversity Quotient (AQ) questionnaire, mathematical literacy ability test, and interviews. The mathematical literacy ability of the research subjects was identified with three indicators of mathematical literacy ability, namely indicators of formulating situations mathematically, indicators of employing mathematical concepts, facts, procedures and reasoning, and indicators of interpreting, applying and evaluating mathematical outcomes. The results of this study indicate that the climber subject is able to fulfill three indicators of mathematical literacy ability, namely formulating situations mathematically, employing mathematical concepts, facts, procedures and reasoning, as well as interpreting, applying and evaluating mathematical outcomes. Camper subjects tend to only be able to fulfill two indicators of mathematical literacy ability, namely formulating situations mathematically and employing mathematical concepts, facts, procedures and reasoning. While the quitter subject is only able to fulfill one indicator of mathematical literacy ability, namely formulating situations mathematically.
