Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya permasalahan yang terdapat pada keterampilan berbicara siswa, bahwa keterampilan berbicara siswa rata-rata masih rendah dan belum mencapai nilai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM) yang ditentukan yaitu 70. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi rendahnya keterampilan berbicara siswa yaitu metode yang digunakan kurang memotivasi siswa dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk, (1) mengidentifikasi aktivitas berbicara siswa kelas II SDN Haurpugur 02 dengan mengggunakan metode bercerita model Story-Based Pedagogy, dan (2) mendeskripsikan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas II SDN Haurpugur 02 setelah menggunakan metode bercerita model Story-Based Pedagogy. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas II SDN Haurpugur 02 yang terdiri atas 25 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan melalui dua siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari tiga tindakan. Intrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu lembar observasi, tes, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, (1) proses pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dengan menggunakan metode bercerita model Story-Based Pedagogy dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas II SD. Hal ini terlihat dari meningkatnya hasil aktivitas yang dilakukan guru dan siswa pada setiap siklusnya. Pembelajaran dibagi ke dalam tiga kegiatan, yaitu kegiatan pembuka, kegiatan inti dengan 4 sintak model SBP (Preparing for Storytelling, Story Sharing, Joint Retelling, dan Independent Story Sharing) dan kegiatan penutup. (2) keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas II SDN Haurpugur 02 setelah menggunakan metode bercerita model Story-Based Pedagogy mengalami peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya. Hal ini terlihat dari nilai rata-rata hasil tes siswa pada Independent Story Sharing siklus I memperoleh nilai rata-rata 54,29 dan pada siklus II memperoleh nilai rata-rata 84,14. Dari hasil tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa pembelajaran metode bercerita menggunakan model Story-Based Pedagogy dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas II SDN Haurpugur 02. ----- This research is motivated by the problems found in students' speaking skills, that on average the speaking skills of students are still low and have not reached the specified Minimum Completeness Criteria which is 70. One of the factors that affects the students’ speaking skill is the unmotivated method used in the learning process. The aims of this study are to (1) identify the speaking activities of second grade students at SDN Haurpugur 02 by using the Story-Based Pedagogy model of storytelling, and (2) to describe the speaking skills of second grade students at SDN Haurpugur 02 after using the Story-Based Pedagogy model. The subjects of this study are second grade students of SDN Haurpugur 02 which consisted of 25 students. This study used the classroom action research which was carried out through two cycles, each cycle consisting of three actions. The research instruments used are observation sheets, tests, documentation, and field notes. The results of the study show that, (1) The process of learning Indonesian by using the Story-Based Pedagogy model of storytelling can improve the speaking skills of second grade elementary school students. This can be seen from the increasing results of activities carried out by teachers and students in each cycle. Learning is divided into three activities, namely opening activities, core activities with 4 SBP model syntax (Preparing for Storytelling, Story Sharing, Joint Retelling & Independent Story Sharing) and closing activities. (2) The speaking skills of the second graders of SDN Haurpugur 02 after using the Story-Based Pedagogy model storytelling method increased in each cycle. This can be seen from the average score of student test results in the first cycle of Independent Story Sharing, which obtained an average score of 54.29 and in the second cycle, the average score was 84.14. From these results, it can be seen that learning the storytelling method using the Story-Based Pedagogy model can improve the speaking skills of the second grade students of SDN Haurpugur 02.
