Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi mengenai permasalahan masih terbatasnya upaya mengoptimalkan kemampuan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun, khususnya pada sub tema mengenal binatang buas. Hal ini terjadi karena terbatasnya media pembelajaran pada sub tema mengenal binatang buas. Selain itu, pada penelitian terdahulu juga ditemukan bahwa media untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan mengenal binatang buas merupakan media virtual reality yang membutuhkan alat penunjang lain sehingga tidak dimungkinkan semua sekolah Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini mempunyai fasilitas penunjang tersebut. Sehubungan dengan hal tersebut, maka peneliti mengembangkan media poster untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan kognitif pada sub tema mengenal binatang buas anak usia 5-6 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode EDR (Educational Design Research), model generik karya Mckenney & Reeves. Prosedur penelitian EDR terdapat 4 tahap utama yaitu, tahap Analisis dan Eksplorasi (Analysis and Exploration); tahap Desain dan Konstruksi (Design and Construction); tahap Evaluasi dan Refleksi (Evaluation and Reflection) dan tahap kelayakan produk. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi, angket, dan validasi ahli. Validasi ini dilakukan oleh ahli media pembelajaran, ahli materi kognitif dan ahli pedagogik. Setelah melalui beberapa revisi sesuai saran validator kemudian dilakukan uji coba produk sebanyak dua kali di TK Istiqomah. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dari data uji coba produk, media poster untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan kognitif pada sub tema mengenal binatang buas anak usia 5-6 tahun ini telah berhasil dikembangkan dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini. Kata Kunci: Kognitif, Binatang Buas, Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun ABSTRACT This Research is motivated by the problem of still limited efforts to optimize the cognitive abilities of children aged 5-6 years, especially in the sub-theme of knowing wild animals. This happens because of the limited learning media on the sub-theme of knowing wild animals. In addition, previous research also found that media to facilitate the ability to recognize wild animals is a virtual reality media that requires other supporting tools so that it is not possible for all early childhood education schools to have these supporting facilities. In this regard, researchers developed a poster media to facilitate cognitive abilities in the sub-theme of recognizing wild animals for children aged 5-6 years. This studi uses the EDR (Educational Design Research) method, a generic model by Mckenney & Reeves. The EDR Research procedure has 4 main stages, namely, the Analysis and Exploration stage; stage of Design and Construction (Design and Construction); the Evaluation and Reflection stage and the product feasibility stage. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews, documentation studies, questionnaries, and expert validation. This validation was carried out by learning media experts, cognitive material experts and pedagogic experts. After going through several revisions according to the validator’s suggestions, the product was tested twice at Istiqomah Kindergaten. Based on the results of the analysis of produst trial data, poster media to facilitate cognitive abilities in the sub-theme of recognizing wild animals for children aged 5-6 years has been successfully developed and is suitable for use in Early Childhood Education learning.
