Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa merupakan salah satu kemampuan matematis yang harus dikuasai oleh siswa. Rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis murid sekolah dasar yang menjadikan dasar dari penelitian ini. Permasalahan tersebut dikarenakan peserta didik cenderung menghafal konsep. Ketika menghadapi soal yang kontekstual dengan konsep tersebut siswa tidak mampu menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut. Kurang berkembangnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa juga diakibatkan oleh aktivitas pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan serta pengaruh model pembelajaran MEA berbantuan Question Card terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu SD Negeri di Kabupaten Cirebon. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu (quasi eksperiment) dengan desain penelitian menggunakan nonequivalent control group design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian pada kedua kelas berjumlah 50 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan berbentuk uraian Hasil dari penelitian yaitu: 1) Tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajran MEA berbantuan Question Card dengan siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Temuan ini didapatkan berdasarkan hasil uji Mann Whitney U yang menghasilkan nilai sig. 0,0615 > 0,05; 2) Terdapat pengaruh model MEA berbantuan Question Card terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis sebesar 45,9%. ----- Students' mathematical problem solving ability is one of the mathematical abilities that must be mastered by students. The low mathematical problem solving ability of elementary school students is the basis of this research. The problem is because students tend to memorize concepts. When faced with contextual problems with these concepts students are not able to solve these problems. The lack of development of students' mathematical problem solving abilities is also caused by learning activities that are still teacher-centered. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the improvement and influence of the MEA learning model assisted by Question Cards on mathematical problem solving abilities. This research was conducted in one public elementary school in Cirebon Regency. The research method used is a quasi-experimental research design using a nonequivalent control group design. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. The research sample in both classes was 50 students. The instrument used is in the form of a description of the results of the study, thats is: 1) There is no difference in the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving abilities using the MEA learning model assisted by Question Cards with students using conventional learning. This finding was obtained based on the results of the Mann Whitney U test which resulted in a sig. 0.0615 > 0.05; 2) there is an effect of the MEA model assisted by Question Cards on mathematical problem solving ability of 45,9%.
