Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui gambaran latar belakang pendidikan karyawan, gambaran kinerja karyawan, serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh latar belakang pendidikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Bidang Pembinaan Sekolah Menengah Atas Dinas Pendidikan Jawa Barat. Penelitian dilakukan karena terdapat beberapa permasalahan terkait dengan kinerja karyawan yaitu karyawan tidak dapat menyelesaikan tugasnya secara tepat waktu, kedispilinan karyawan kurang maksimal, beberapa karyawan yang sedang melanjutkan pendidikan mengalami bentrok antara kegiatan kerja dengan kuliah. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah metode deskriptif dan asosiatif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, dan teknik sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Total Sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat pendidikan karyawan sebesar 12 orang SMA, 2 orang D3, 21 orang S1 dan 8 orang S2. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan kecenderungan umum dengan teknik Weight Means Score (WMS), variabel kinerja karyawan memperoleh nilai 4,29 dan termasuk kedalam kategori sangat baik. Koefesien korelasi sebesar 0,635 termasuk kedalam kategori kuat yang berarti terdapat hubungan antara latar belakang pendidikan dengan kinerja karyawan. Berdasarkan perhitungan koefesiensi penentu (KP) diperoleh nilai sebesar 40,762%. Hal ini mengindikasi bahwa kontribusi variabel latar belakang pendidikan sebesar 40,762% sedangkan sisanya sebesar 59,238% ditentukan oleh faktor lain di luar model yang tidak terdeteksi dalam penelitian ini, Kesimpulan menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara latar belakang pendidikan dan kinerja karyawan pada Bidang Pembinaan Sekolah Menengah Atas Dinas Pendidikan Jawa Barat, karena diperoleh diperoleh dari nilai hitung adalah 0,575 dan nilai karena diperoleh diperoleh dari nilai hitung adalah 0,575 dan nilai rtabel dengan (dk=n-2) adalah 0, 3044, maka diperoleh nilai bahwa rhitung > rtabel (0,575 > 0,3044). --- This research was conducted to determine the description of the educational background of the employees, the description of the employee's performance, and to determine the effect of the educational background on the performance of the employees in the High School Development Division of the West Java Education Office. The study was conducted because there were several problems related to employee performance, namely employees could not complete their assignments on time, employee discipline was not optimal, some employees who were continuing their education had clashes between work activities and college. The research method used is descriptive and associative method with a quantitative approach, and the sampling technique used in this study is Total Sampling. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The results showed that the education level of the employees was 12 high school students, 2 D3 people, 21 undergraduates and 8 masters. Based on the results of the calculation of the general trend with the Weight Means Score (WMS) technique, the employee performance variable obtained a value of 4.29 and was included in the very good category. The correlation coefficient of 0.635 is included in the strong category, which means that there is a relationship between educational background and employee performance. Based on the calculation of the determinant coefficient (KP) obtained a value of 40.762%. This indicates that the contribution of the educational background variable is 40.762% while the remaining 59.238% is determined by other factors outside the model that are not detected in this study. The conclusion shows that there is a significant influence between educational background and employee performance at The Division of High School Development of the West Java Education Office, because it is obtained from the arithmetic value is 0.575 and the value of rtable with (dk = n-2) is 0, 3044, then the value is that rcount > rtable (0.575 > 0.3044).
