Abstract

Tidak semua pendengar lagu mempunyai pengetahuan gaya bahasa padahal mereka memahami dan menggunakannya dalam lagu pop yang di dengarkan setiap hari. Oleh sebab itu, Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mendeskripsikan fenomena majas yang banyak digunakan dalam lagu-lagu pop Indonesia; dan 2) mendeskripsikan respon pendengar terhadap majas pada lirik lagu pop. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan membagi majas berdasarkan kategori majas (Cruse, 2006). Data lagu dikumpulkan melalui teknik simak dan catat yang dianalisis berdasarkan jenis menggunakan SPSS berdasarkan frekuensi. Sedangkan data kuesioner disebar melalui Google Form dengan analisis respon berdasarkan teori Stenberg (2008). Hasil penelitian terhadap penggunaan majas pada lirik lagu pop Indonesia yang viral di kanal YouTube pada tahun 2017-2021 menunjukkan 1) fenomena majas yang banyak digunakan berupa metafora 50,6%; hiperbola 15,2%; sinisme 14,8%; personifikasi 6,2%; eufimisme 4,9 %; simile 2,9%; ironi 2,1%; metonimia 1,6%; litotes 0,8%; dan sarkasme 0,8%; serta 2) respon positif berupa pemahaman yang sama di antara lagu yang tidak bermajas dengan lagu bermajas. Kata Kunci: Majas, Lagu Pop Indonesia, Viral, YouTube ABSTRACT Not all song listeners have the knowledge of language style even though they understand and use it in the daily pop songs. Therefore, this study aims to 1) describe the phenomenon of figurative languages which are widely used in Indonesian pop songs; and 2) describe the listener's response to the figurative language in pop song lyrics. This study used a qualitative descriptive method by dividing the figurative languages based on the category of figurative language (Cruse, 2006). Song data were collected by listening and note-taking techniques and then the data were analyzed by type using SPSS based on frequency. The questionnaire was distributed through Google Form and the response analysis was based on Stenberg's (2008) theory. The results of research on the use of figurative language in the lyrics of Indonesian pop songs that are viral on YouTube channels in 2017-2021 showed that 1) the figurative language used was in the form of metaphors (50.6%), hyperbole (15.2%), cynicism (14.8%), personification (6.2%), euphemism (4.9%), similes (2.9%), irony (2.1%), metonymy (1.6%), litotes (0.8%), and sarcasm (0.8%); and 2) a positive response was in the form of the same understanding between songs with and without figurative languages.
