Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya penguasaan keterampilan menulis teks eksposisi di sekolah di Kabupaten Rokan Hilir. Fakta di lapangan dan data empiris menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik masih mengalami kesulitan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi. Faktor penyebab hal tersebut adalah kurangnya penggunaan model pembelajaran yang terbarukan. Selain itu pemanfaatan media pembelajaran juga yang masih kurang maksimal. Maka dari itu, dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mengembangkan model pembelajaran yaitu model SCT berbantuan media film dokumenter. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk terciptanya sebuah model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik dan pendidik dan sesuai dengan situasi dan kondisi di lapangan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu research and development (R&D) dengan desain 4-D (Thiagarajan, Semmel, dan Semmel, 1974) yang terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu define, design, develop, disseminate. Penelitian ini menghasilkan implementasi langkah-langkah model SCT berbantuan media film dokumenter dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi. Langkah-langkah model SCT ini adalah 1) orientasi peserta didik, 2) menyusun teks eksposisi, 3) presentasi hasil menyusun teks eksposisi, 4) penyelesaian tugas menulis teks eksposisi, 5) evaluasi. Hasil penelitian ini berupa validasi kelayakan produk tahap implementasi menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata desian model yang dikembangkan sebesar 92,36% dengan kriteria predikat sangat baik. Selain itu respons pengguna yang terdiri atas pendidik dan peserta didik menunjukkan hasil sebesar 93,07% dan 84,53% dengan predikat sangat baik dan baik. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model SCT berbantuan media film dokumenter dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi efektif digunakan untuk menunjang kebutuhan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi. Kata Kunci: model SCT, film dokumenter, menulis, teks eksposisi ABSTRACT The background of this research is motivated by the low mastery of writing in learning to write exposition texts in schools at Rokan Hilir Regency. Facts in the field and empirical data show that students still experience difficulties in learning to write exposition texts. The factor causing this is the lack of use of renewable learning models. In addition, the use of learning media is also still not optimal. So the researchers from that, in this study, developed a learning model, namely the SCT model assisted by documentary film media. This research has the aim of creating a learning model that is to the needs of students and educators and according to the situation and conditions in the field. The research method used is research and development (R&D) with a 4-D design (Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel, 1974) which consists of four stages, namely define, design, develop,, and disseminate. This research resulted in the implementation of the SCT steps model assisted by documentary film media in learning to write exposition texts. The steps of this SCT model are 1) student orientation, 2) compiling exposition text, 3) presentation of results compiling exposition text, 4) completion of the task of writing exposition text, and 5) evaluation. The results of this study in the form of product accuracy at the implementation stage showed that the average value of the design model developed was 92.36% with very good predicate criteria. In addition, user responses consisting of educators and students showed results of 93.07% and 84.53% with very good and good predicates. The results of the study indicate that the SCT model assisted by documentary film media in learning to write expository texts is effectively used to support the needs in learning to write exposition texts.
