Abstract
ABSTRACT Menarche is the beginning of a woman's menstruation at puberty, menarche is a transition point of risk from the child's psychological response to feeling anxious. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of anxiety of 4th and 5th graders at SDN Rancamulya in dealing with menarche. This research method is quantitative research with descriptive method using cross sectional approach. The questionnaire used in this study used a Z-SAS questionnaire with 20 question items to measure anxiety levels. The results of this study showed that the highest number of respondents was in the 10 year age category with 15 respondents (56%), the highest class was class IV as many as 15 respondents (56%). And for the highest level of anxiety, namely the category of severe anxiety level 11 respondents (41%), moderate anxiety level as many as 10 respondents (37%) and mild anxiety level 6 respondents (22%). From the number of respondents as many as 27 people, it is known that most respondents in the category of never getting information on menarche amounted to 15 respondents (56%), and the category of parents and friends as sources of information about menarche was 12 respondents (44%). The conclusion from the results of this study can be concluded that elementary school students experience anxiety in dealing with menarche. The variation in the level of anxiety is caused by differences in the characteristics of respondents and information. The role of nurses as educatirs and counselors can provide a health counseling regarding menarche so as not to arise anxiety. Keywords: Anxiety Level, School Children, Menarche
