    Abstract

    Pendidikan karakter menjadi dasar dalam pembentukan karakter berkualitas
    bangsa yang tidak mengabaikan nilai-nilai sosial. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah
    untuk mengetahui muatan pendidikan karakter pada buku teks pelajaran IPS
    Kurikulum 2013. Metode dalam penelitian adalah analisis isi naratif dengan
    pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah studi
    dokumentasi, analisis teks pelajaran IPS kurikulum 2013 kelas VIII dan
    wawancara kepada salah satu guru IPS yang menggunakan buku teks ini. Hasil
    penelitian yang diperoleh antara lain (1) Muatan pendidikan karakter dalam buku
    teks mata pelajaran IPS tahun 2017 edisi revisi telah disesuaikan dengan Peraturan
    Menteri Pendidikan Dan Kebudayaan Nomor 20 Tahun 2018 tentang Penguatan
    Pendidikan Karakter (PPK). (2) Pada buku teks mata pelajaran IPS Tahun 2017
    edisi revisi yang dikeluarkan Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan telah
    memuat niai-nilai dalam pendidikan karakter ada sebanyak 8 nilai yaitu religius,
    jujur, disiplin, tanggung jawab, gotong royong, santun, toleransi, dan percaya diri.
    (3) Berdasarkan hasil tabel muatan karakter yang sudah dijelaskan maka dapat
    diketahui bahwa terdapat 18 kalimat yang menyiratkan indikator dari beberapa
    nilai-nilai karakter dan 6 kalimat secara lugas mengandung beberapa nilai-nilai
    karakter.

    Character education is the basis for the formation of a nation's quality character
    that does not ignore social values. The purpose of this study was to determine the
    content of character education in the 2013 Curriculum Social Studies textbook.
    The method in this research is narrative content analysis with a qualitative
    approach. The data collection techniques used were documentation studies, text
    analysis of the social studies lesson in the 2013 curriculum for class VIII and an
    interview with one of the social studies teachers who used this textbook. The
    research results obtained include: (1) The content of character education in the
    revised edition of the 2017 social studies subject textbook has been adjusted to the
    Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 20 of 2018
    concerning Strengthening Character Education (PPK). (2) In the revised edition of
    the 2017 Social Studies textbook issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture,
    there are 8 values in character education, namely religious, honest, disciplined,
    responsible, mutual cooperation, polite, tolerance, and trust. self. (3) Based on the
    results of the character load table that has been explained, it can be seen that there
    are 18 sentences that imply indicators of several character values and 6 sentences
    that explicitly contain several character values.
