Abstract

Tradisi menghafal Al-Qur’an merupakan salah satu dari sekian banyak fenomena umat Islam sebagai upaya menghadirkan Al-Qur’an dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Selain dari karena Al-Qur’an adalah kitab suci dan sebagai pedoman hidup seorang Muslim, aktivitas menghafal Al-Qur’an terbukti memiliki banyak keutamaan. Beberapa penelitian terdahulu menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif aktivitas menghafal Al-Qur’an yang diyakini dapat membentuk karakter baik dan meningkatkan prestasi akademik peserta didik. Dari sekian banyak kajian tentang studi Al-Qur’an, belum ada kajian serupa terhadap mahasiswa terutama terkait profil dan prestasi akademik di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana profil dan prestasi akademik mahasiswa penghafal Al-Qur’an di UPI. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, dimana peneliti menjadi instrumen kunci dalam penelitian. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan observasi. Analisis data penelitian dilakukan dalam bentuk reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa ada pengaruh positif dari aktivitas menghafal Al-Qur’an bagi pencapaian prestasi akademik mahasiswa dan religiusitas atau sikap keagamaannya. Kata Kunci : Profil, Prestasi Akademik, Tahfiz Al-Qur’an. The tradition of memorizing the Qur'an is one of the many phenomena of Muslims as an effort to present the Qur'an in everyday life. Apart from the fact that the Qur'an is a holy book and as a guide for a Muslim's life, the activity of memorizing the Qur'an is proven to have many virtues. Several previous studies have shown that there is a positive influence on the activity of memorizing the Qur'an which is believed to be able to form good character and improve students' academic achievement. Of the many studies on the study of the Qur'an, there has been no similar study on college students, especially related to profiles and academic achievements at the Indonesian University of Education (UPI). This study aims to find out how the profile and academic achievement of students memorizing the Qur'an at UPI are. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, where the researcher is the key instrument in the research. Collecting data using interview techniques, study documentation, and observation. Research data analysis was carried out in the form of data reduction, data display, and data verification. The results of this study prove that there is a positive effect of memorizing the Qur'an on students' academic achievement and religiosity or religious attitudes.
