Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh siswa yang terlihat memiliki self efficacy akademik rendah. Tujuan penelitian untuk memperoleh gambaran self efficacy dalam akademik remaja awal. Sampel dalam penelitian adalah siswa Kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 7 Bandung tahun ajaran 2020/2021 berjumlah 114 siswa dengan menggunakan random sampling. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) kecenderungan siswa secara umum memiliki tingkat self efficacy akademik pada kategori tinggi yaitu sebesar 86,8%; (2) kecenderungan siswa pada dimensi magnitude atau level berada pada kategori tinggi dengan persentase 78%; (3) kecenderungan siswa pada dimensi strength menunjukan siswa berada pada kategori tinggi dengan persentase 88%; (4) hasil temuan penelitian ditemukan dari 50 siswa laki-laki terdapat 43 orang memiliki tingkat self efficacy tinggi dan 7 orang memiliki self efficacy rendah. Sementara 64 siswa perempuan terdapat 56 orang memiliki self efficacy tinggi dan 8 orang memiliki self efficacy rendah. Rekomendasi penelitian ditujukan kepada guru bimbingan dan konseling & peneliti selanjutnya. This research is motivated by students who seem to have low academic self efficacy. The purpose of the study was to determine the description of self efficacy in early adolescent academics. The sample in the study was class VIII students at SMP Negeri 7 Bandung for the academic year 2020/2021 totaling 114 students using random sampling. The method used in this research is descriptive. The results showed (1) the tendency of students in general to have a high level of academic self efficacy in the high category, namely 86.8%; (2) the tendency of students on the dimension of magnitude or level shows that students are in the high category with a percentage of 78%; (3) the tendency of students on the strength dimension in the high category with a percentage of 88%; (4) the research findings found that from 50 male students there were 43 people who had high levels of self efficacy and 7 people had low self efficacy. While 64 female students, 56 have high academic self efficacy and 8 have low academic self efficacy. Research recommendations are addressed to guidance and counseling teachers, and futher researchers.
