Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi pandangan guru mengenai keselamatan bermain outdoor bagi anak usia dini di lingkungan lembaga PAUD. Kajian mengenai keselamatan bermain di area outdoor bagi anak usia dini sudah banyak dilakukan oleh para peneliti internasional, karena di hampir setiap negara memiliki aturan yang khusus membahas tentang standar keselamatan bermain, baik indoor dan outdoor, sehingga banyak membantu para pendidik PAUD dalam membentuk pemahaman yang benar mengenai isu ini. Berbeda halnya dalam konteks nasional, pemahaman guru masih belum komprehensif dan belum diaplikasikan secara holistik contohnya seperti penggunaan alas lantai/tanah dengan menggunakan karet atau karpet untuk menghindari benturan keras masih belum dilakukan di lembaga PAUD. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus yang melibatkan empat orang guru PAUD di kota Purwakarta. Temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah urgensi bermain di outdoor playground sudah menjadi kebutuhan yang krusial dan esensial bagi perkembangan dan kecerdasan anak. Namun pada aspek keamanan dan keselamatan bermain di outdoor playground masih diperlukan peningkatan pemahaman yang memadai bagi guru, diantaranya adalah spesifikasi alat bermain seperti ayunan, prosotan, dan jungkat jungkit yang sesuai dengan SOP (Standard Operation Procedure) dari pemerintah. Dengan demikian diharapkan proses pengelolaan keselamatan bermain outdoor bagi anak usia dini dari mulai perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi dapat berjalan secara sinergi. Kata kunci: keselamatan, bermain outdoor, anak usia dini This research was aimed to explore outdoor play safety regarding children in their early years in an ECE institution environment from the teachers’ perspective. Many international researchers have conducted studies on the safety of playing in outdoor areas regarding children in the early childhood years. This is due to the fact that almost every country has rules that specifically discuss safety standards for playing, both indoor and outdoor, thus aiding ECE educators to form the right understanding concerning this issue. In contrast to the case in the national context, the understanding of teachers is still not comprehensive and has not been applied holistically, for example, the use of floor mats/soil using rubber or carpets to avoid hard collisions has not yet been carried out in ECE institutions. This study consists of a qualitative research design with a case study approach involving four ECE teachers in the city of Purwakarta. The findings in this study are the urgency of playing in an outdoor playground has become a crucial and essential need for the development and intelligence of children. However, in terms of security and safety playing in outdoor playgrounds, it is still necessary to increase adequate understanding for teachers, including the specifications for play equipment such as swings, slides, and seesaws in accordance with the government SOP (Standard Operation Procedure).Hence, it is hoped that the process of managing outdoor play safety for children in the early childhood years as a result of planning, implementing, and evaluating can run in harmony.
