Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan memperhatikan fenomena selama pandemi corona virus disease (covid-19) dan dampaknya terhadap pembelajaran khususnya pada pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Model Blended-learning merupakan salah satu pilihan yang dapat digunakan saat situasi pandemi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Model Blended-learning ini berbantuan WhatsApp Group sebagai media dalam pembelajaran daring. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh model blended-learning terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa, mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan antara tingkat pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan menggunakan blended-learning dan pembelajaran konvensional dan mengetahui respon siswa terhadap blended-learning. Pembelajaran yang dilakukan selama masa pandemi hanya menggunakan metode penugasan yang membuat siswa jenuh dan terbebani. Oleh karena itu, model blended-learning perlu dikenalkan sebagai model pembelajaran yang memadukan pembelajaran daring dan tatap muka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group. Populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh siswa kelas IV SD se-Kecamatan Cimalaka di Kabupaten Sumedang. Adapun sampel penelitian yaitu SDN Mulyasari sebagai kelas eksperimen dan SDN Cilimbangan sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan di antaranya tes pemahaman konsep matematis dan angket respon siswa. Berdasarkan hasil pembelajaran selama tiga hari, menunjukkan bahwa: 1) model blended-learning berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa; 2) Blended-learning memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional; 3) siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap blended-learning. This research was conducted by paying attention to the phenomenon during the coronavirus disease (covid-19) pandemic and its impact on learning, especially in understanding students' mathematical concepts. The Blended-learning model is one option that can be used during a pandemic situation to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts. This Blended-learning model is assisted by WhatsApp Group as a medium for online learning. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the blended-learning model on increasing students' understanding of mathematical concepts, to determine the difference between the level of understanding of students' mathematical concepts using blended-learning and conventional learning, and to determine student responses to blended-learning. Learning carried out during the pandemic only uses the assignment method which makes students bored and burdened. Therefore, the blended-learning model needs to be introduced as a learning model that combines online and face-to-face learning. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The research population is all fourth-grade elementary school students in Cimalaka District in Sumedang Regency. The research sample are SDN Mulyasari as the experimental class and SDN Cilimbangan as the control class. The instruments used include tests for understanding mathematical concepts and student response questionnaires. Based on the results of learning for three days, it shows that: 1) the blended-learning model has a positive effect on increasing students' understanding of mathematical concepts; 2) Blended-learning has a better effect on increasing students' understanding of mathematical concepts than conventional learning; 3) students give a positive response to blended-learning.
