Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan kemampuan argumentasi siswa sekolah dasar kelas empat mengenai pelestarian sumber daya alam serta faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan argumentasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kemampuan argumentasi siswa secara keseluruhan dan indikator pencapaian kompetensi serta untuk mengetahui faktor- faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan argumentasi. Penelitian ini tentang pembelajaran IPA mengenai pelestarian sumber daya alam berupa kerusakan yang terjadi di lingkungan sekitar dimana siswa diminta untuk berargumen untuk memberikan solusi atau memperbaiki kerusakan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Data yang dikumpulkan untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian yaitu hasil tes argumentasi dan wawancara. Hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kemampuan argumentasi siswa sangat rendah, hanya berada pada tingkat I dan II saja. Rendahnya kemampuan argumentasi siswa dipengaruhi beberapa faktor seperti pengetahuan awal siswa, model pembelajaran yang digunakan, motivasi belajar, dan lingkungan belajar. Ada beberapa hal untuk menumbuhkan dan mengembangkan kemampuan argumentasi siswa yaitu dengan menciptkan suasana pembelajaran yang menarik, melakukan tanya jawab, diskusi, dan memberikan siswa kesempatan untuk memberikan argumen. ------ Daya AlamThis study describes the argumentation ability of fourth grade elementary school students regarding the preservation of natural resources and the factors that influence argumentation ability. The purpose of this study was to determine the overall argumentation ability of students and indicators of competency achievement as well as to determine the factors that influence argumentation ability. This research is motivated by science learning regarding the preservation of natural resources in the form of damage that occurs in the surrounding environment where students are asked to argue to provide solutions or repair the damage. The method used in this research is descriptive research. The data collected to answer research questions are the results of argumentation tests and interviews. The test results show that the level of students' argumentation skills is very low, only at levels I and II. The low argumentation ability of students is influenced by several factors such as students' prior knowledge, learning models used, learning motivation, and learning environment. There are several things to grow and develop students' argumentation skills, namely by creating an interesting learning atmosphere, conducting questions and answers, discussions, and giving students the opportunity to give arguments.
