Abstract

Reaction speed is a person's ability to accept decisions or responses in the shortest possible time. This study aims to determine the effect of the Reaction ball training method on increasing the reactions of players in the Volleyball Student Activity Unit, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The method used in this research is an experimental method using pre and post training sessions. The population in this study were 24 players,by using a purposive sampling technique from the Volleyball Student Activity Unit Indonesian education university, after all samples did a pretest using the whole body reaction time tool then for sample selection using the ABBA technique, and divided into 2 groups with a sample of 12 people in the experimental group. and a control group of 12 people, this method is used so that the two groups have equal abilities (equivalent). After doing the pretest, treatment was given with the Reaction ball exercise method and exercises without treatment. The data processing technique was carried out by descriptive statistical analysis and comparative test analysis. The reaction ball training method and the exercise without treatment have an effect on increasing reaction speed, but the reaction ball training method has a more significant effect. So it can be concluded that the Reaction ball training method has a more significant effect on increasing reaction speed on the players of the Volleyball Student Activity Unit Indonesian education university.
