PENGARUH PEMBELAJARAN IPS TERPADU TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN BERMAKNA PADA SISWA

    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran IPS di sekolah yang kurang optimal dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan belajar bermakna pada siswa. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPS juga masih dilaksanakan secara terpisah sesuai bidang kajian geografi, sosiologi, sejarah, dan ekonomi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran IPS Terpadu terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan bermakna pada siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian eksperimen kuasi dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Satu kelas dipilih sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan pembelajaran IPS Terpadu dan satu kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran IPS secara terpisah. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berbentuk hasil tes yang didukung oleh observasi dan angket. Teknik analisa data tes untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian menggunakan SPSS versi 16 dengan alat analisis: uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, analisis parametris dengan uji t, serta gain . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPS Terpadu berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan bermakna pada siswa. Pembelajaran IPS Terpadu ini direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan bermakna pada siswa.

    This research is motivated by the implementation of the learning process of social studies in school which is not optimally in developing critical thinking skills and meaningful learning to students. The implementation of Social Studies learning has still carried out separately as the field of geography, sociology, history, and economics study. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of Integrated Social Studies learning on the increase of critical thinking skills and meaningful learning to students. The method used quasi-experimental research with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. One class was chosen as the experimental class with Integrated learning Social Studies implementation and the other as control class with separated learning social studies implementation. The techniques of data collection used tests supported by observation and questionnaire. The techniques of data analysis to test the research hypothesis used SPSS 16 version with analysis tools: normality test, homogeneity test, parametric analysis by t test, and gain. The results of the research showed that the Integrated Social learning influences the increased critical thinking skills and meaningful learning to students. Integrated Social learning is recommended as an alternative to learning that can improve critical thinking skills and meaningful learning to students .
